I work in Hollywood (small stuff) and a friend of mine in a union makeup artist (BIG deal). Her first two albums sold well, but the third album This Is Me Then had abysmal sales compared to Britney, Avril, Evanescence, etc. so her team tried to rebrand by calling the fourth album Rebirth. If that had sold well, things would be different but it sold less than This Is Me Then because people realized she is just a singles artist, not an album artist. Her sales collapsed, and she went from releasing an album every year to releasing an album every decade, until now not even releasing an album but just dropping quick lil singles here and there to drum up interest. Millennials caught on to the fact that she doesn't really care about quality very early on.
