I once had the great pleasure of meeting Peter Lawrence, he was such a lovely, softly spoken and extremely kind man. However, I will never get the image out of my mind the look of someone who doesn't have closure. He told Me he would always have hope and someone somewhere knows what happened. Unfortunately, he died without getting the closure he so desperately wanted. RIP Peter.

An American who analyzes CCTV footage as his career looked at the CCTV footage for this case frame by frame and he said that the man looked straight at the camera in a few frames. There is a publication in the UK who examined his original frames and said that they were surprised at how much facial detail they could see. The man is balding with big ears and his nose and mouth features look so much like Halliwell thatArrin submitted it to a few other experts who agreed with him. I believe he said that Scotland Yard will be investigating whether it was Halliwell. If not, the person looks a whole lot like him.

When my daughter was younger, around seventeen, she would just take off with her friends. No word to me at all. Wasn't she seeing like 4 men at the same time. Like she was actively sleeping with at least 4 men at the same time, in which case that is bound to cause problems when they find out about the 'others', or if their partners find out. If you sleep with one married man, you will probably get away with it. Sleep with 4 at the same time and chances are at least one of their partners would find out. Or at least one of them would turn on her if they thought she was going to tell his partner. Either way, she was playing a risky game...

I still get incredibly frustrated having dealt with a family member who went "missing." No one ever could have believed that she went off on her own. The police opened an investigation after about 6 days, after we started the search on our own. They came to believe foul play was involved at that point. Then, suddenly, she returned after close to two months. After that & hearing similar cases, I now understand why it's impossible to follow all missing persons cases. The pain of the unknown is unimaginable. So many people go missing everyday & many have lives we never know about (no matter how close they are with their families & friends.) The police are just not able to throw their resources every time someone goes missing. I still wish they could, don't get me wrong...I just understand it a bit more now.

Because not every case is actually someone missing. Everyone thinks they know someone and a bunch of times they don't. Just like they said The vast majority of the people turn up. The person in the CCTV matches the description of the person Claudia was (supposedly) seen talking to near Melrosegate bridge, dark hoodie & dark cargo pants (which gives the sighting credibility). Seems like he visited her place around 7pm the previous night via the ally way (spying or checking up on her?), he didn't stay long. Goes back the next morning, maybe she's left by then so he catches up with her at the bridge. The red post box with CCTV is further down the road & she's not seen there, so it seems she doesn't make it beyond the bridge?

Indeed no phone use after 9pm. An escort process has been mentioned elsewhere. There are many threads to this thing.

@@rivermoon6190 if it was what she thought was a minor spat she thought was resolved, maybe she wouldn't. The other suspect I think is important is the property manager seen in the very early hours. Why would he be around so early even if he had properties in the area ? He's since died, but if he was in property ( his own refurb business or working for sales/lettings agent isn't made clear ) he'd maybe have access to mid refurb or empty homes to hide a body for a while....

From what we know, there was no signs of a struggle of any kind within the house, back garden or alleyway. So what we're left to believe is something happened on the way to work. From cctv we see someone use the back alley as entrance to the rear of the houses. And it would seem this person visited a couple of times. The alley as far as I can see only has one way in and out and isn't a walk through. So could this person be visiting Claudia's home to retrieve something, something she has that he needed? Guessing all households attached to that alleyway would have been eliminated from the investigation and the guy wasn't an owner or visitor of any of these other properties. He wasn't seen carrying anything significant ie a TV, big value goods ruling out a random kill to feed a habit etc, so could he be removing something of his from her property he left behind, or something she had of his which give them a connection. So this would mean the person knew her travel route, where she lived, there was back access to the property, he had a key and was aware not to leave any type of evidence behind. Her phone was active for 4 hours after her reported disappearance, and then was manually switched off at 12:10... it hadn't left the area in that time and stayed local until it was powered down and off. Had her murderer switched it off or was it found by a random person who thought it was their lucky day who would of powered down and then powered up with a new sim? Could they track by imei in 2009 ? But if it was the murderer, was this a return to the scene or was it taken with them again leading you to think he was local and why the signal didn't move from its local mast which gave a circumference of 9 miles.

My theory is that the guy who went down the alley was watching her in her house from the back. The night before, and then the morning when he visited again just before she went missing. He then presumably followed her as he was waiting for her to leave. Everything points to that man being the murderer. Who is he? I hope we find out one day.

We might find out soon. Maybe 2023. An American named Arrin Stoner analyzes CCTV footage as his profession and he also has a small KZbin channel dedicated to cases with CCTV. His brother is an unsolved missing person case so he is OCD about it and looks frame by frame on good equipment and said that the man looked at the camera a few frames. He described the man as balding with big ears and that he had a distinctive nose and mouth. He started looking at arrests of bald men in the UK and came across Halliwell and contacted a few people in the UK including one publication who looked at his high-resolution stills and so far multiple people agree with Arrin that the features are consistent with Halliwell. I think he said the Scotland Yard will be looking into Halliwell for the case.
@sawrasam

this man was discounted by police as a local landlord inspecting his properties.After Karen Edwards mother of Becky whose body was informally shown to a police officer along with Sian OCallaghan by the confessed killer Halliwell was denied justice owing to evidence irregularities ,she ran a campaign to change the law.During this period she received evidence that Halliwell knew Lawrence and was having an affair with Linda Kazzell who also disappeared in Swindon on the same March date as Claudia Lawrence and Linda=case closed but what has still been not fully investigated by Wiltshire Police is 1) these letters and witnesses who contacted Karen 2) a clothes dump buried nr a pond which evidence it still has stashed away showing clothing from 2 of the murdered women whilst 3) accepting a feeble petrol station CCTV alibi in Swindon when Halliwell easily had time to drive to York that evening and night whilst 4) it has not recognised that the same March dates( different years) of Claudia and Lindas disappearances and Sians killing must be way more than coincidental esp when 5) a former Halliwell Dartmoor cellmate has stated that this date was important to H following a break-up on that date which were the Wiltshire Police to actually solve this would mean that Glyn Kazzell has been wrongly convicted,where he recently refused parole.V few guilty people will refuse parole.

@@sawrasam Yes, you said it all. When Arrin first did the close-ups to see what the person looked like, I couldn't see it because I didn't have a good enough computer for my older eyes. But when he posted the images, what are the chances that the man would look exactly like Halliwell? On top of choosing that particular date?

my material is not original of course but based around a police intelligence report from elsewhere and comments by the arresting officer who was treated badly and left Wiltshire Police 4 yrs later.I recently passed this on to a police sergeant aide to the Chief Constable of another force i was dealing with.A full new independent investigation by an outside force is needed to especially look at the hard evidence held by Karen and to oversee full forensics on clothing found at that dump.I believe there may be another reason for a lack of cooperation esp from the Nags Head but thats all speculation.Wiltshire Police is way to close to Glyn Kazzells conviction

btw N Yorks police is satisfied the evening guy and maybe the morning guy is a local landlord and CH was certainly in Swindon that evening .Imho he walked the Swindon police into his alibi in such a way that they congratulated themselves they had excluded him, Serial killers r highly manipulative and CH had books on forensic evidence so had he even had bound CL with the chords from the missing hairstraighteners wud have left no evidence behind .So why ? Theres a reason that people clammed up .Women r understandably terrified.CH was also seen in Pickering distributing his taxi details.The woman who received his card was reprimanded by her colleague and she tore up his details.Im guessing that his tally is well ovet 10 plus many rapes in his earlier life.

This is a very baffling case…it sounds like it would’ve taken her an hour to walk from her flat to her work place and if she was was starting work at 6am she’d have left her flat no later than 5am and so much could’ve happened to her in that one hour walking alone if she ever left her flat alive, also there is video footage of her on the 18th leaving work and walking past a red post office box and posting something but no footage of her the 19th which is the day she went missing, which sounds to me she did not make it very far when she left her house that day…..hope one day we find out the answers and the people responsible are brought to justice.
