Messi is not the greatest athlete in the world, LeBron James is. He's 38 years old and STILL playing at an elite level after 20 years in the league. The man moves & plays like he's 25 years old. You can't say the same thing about Messi. His age is showing already.

@@johnnyb4266 LeBron's last sporting achievement was the NBA championship in 2020, when he was 35, while Messi won the FIFA World Cup 2022, also at age 35. Both of them won the MVP award, and Messi is most probably going to win the next Ballon d'Or. Ever since he won the 2020 championship, LeBron has failed to get the Lakers past the 1st round of the playoffs. I really don't think there is a longevity case for LeBron here, if Messi wins anything next year he will have surpassed LeBron.

The greatest of all time is Usain Bolt. Everyone who is capable of running has tried to run fast. Not everyone in the world has tried to play soccer, football, basketball, etc. Plus, with soccer, there's no way to compare eras. How do you compare Pele to Messi. With sprinting, everything is standardized. 100 meters is always 100 meters. Although there is some technology, like track shoes and track surfaces that can make a difference. But for the most part, Usain Bolt being the fastest human is the most impressive in terms of pure numbers of people.

Fun segment. Flawed premise though. I don't decide what to be by thinking about what's hardest to do. I don't think, "I have no interested in golf, chemical engineering, and business.... now which one of those is the hardest to do so I'll go do it and be the best in the world at it." We pick things to do based on our interests. I do agree that when it comes to learning, pick difficult subjects but also not difficult ones. I was asked to play at a friend's wedding and I hadn't been playing my instrument in some time. I picked an easy piece that would sound good and I could prepare and look professional fast rather than a difficult one that would have forced me to stretch and would have sounded bad even though it was a lot harder. There needs to be context to this premise. It's not just about doing hard things but those things too and you can't compare soccer to football or math to business. To reach the highest levels, some things have to fall in place along the path of life and you have to have a propensity for whatever you want to do and be the best at. Business, for instance, may be easy for someone but acting is hard and yet we would not tell the billionaire to go into acting because it's harder for him than whatever business he leads when the billions he has is probably some level of justification that what was hard for others was at least by some degree easier for him/her and so s/he should exploit that talent.
@Tapecutter59

He did not say to pick something hard at random, he said work hard at what you are interested in.
@alwells5779
@alwells5779 Жыл бұрын
@@Tapecutter59 If you have to tell someone to work at something, then they haven't found what they want to do. The fact is that play, not work, is what leads to success and if it feels like work, then leave. No one has to tell anyone how to be great at playing video games they love but if someone hates playing video games, they won't be successful at them no matter how hard they try. It seems to me that telling people to work hard is like telling them that you think you work harder than or are better than they are and have their lives figured out while really giving no advice at all as no one who loves what they do needs to be told to work at it.
