Introduction of the 'Straight Arrow'. Bobby (Stuey Goetz) almost shits his flared trousers when he picks up his ridiculously fucking huge custom Dodge van, the Straight Arrow. Driving ensues.

This movie is so bad it’s not even funny because it’s cheesy. You know sometimes low budget and cheesy can be funny? This video will make you question if you’re alive. It’s like staring at a chalkboard.

+Craig Zimmerman yeah I remember those days too, even though I was just a little guy back then. My uncle had a late 70's Chevy van and my dad had a '71 Dodge Tradesman 200 that was a used ex Canadian Armed Forces fleet van when he bought it. It was over 3 years ago that I bought myself an '87 Chevy G10 cargo van to re-ignite the past. I customized my Chevy like it would of been back in the late 70's/early 80's (shag carpet, mahogony wood panelling, CB, fridge & microwave and an updated stereo). My dad and uncle sure love the memories my van brings back for them. And everywhere I drive I always get the thumbs up and many compliments... :)

@Craig. I too remember that craze, only appropriate with the song on the radio in 1975, "Chevy Van" by Sammy Johns.

Proud owner of a 74 Vandura. Whoever I bought it off of must have watched this movie hundreds of times. Its a little rough around the edges but it is still awesome and people love it. My addition was a keg of homebrew in the closet with tap mounted in the door. People flip their shit when they see I have beer on tap in the party van. lol

Thats a hell of a nice van. I seen this movie back in the mid or late 1980's on the usa channel. I would like to have one of those vans now. I just never see any 70's era custom vans on the streets nowdays. I guess there all gone. Too bad, it would have been fun to have owned a van like that back in the 70's.

I graduated in 1978 , I knew a couple guys ,who had van , but up north they weren't all that popular. But some guys had.wrestle castles, f..ck trucks. But back then the drinking age was 18yrs old .most high school seniors could buy beer ,so we didnt have to sneak around, and the summer weren't long enough to really put all that money into a van ,a couple buddies had some old convertibles, that was more the summer ride, where I grew up.

20 years ago, I had a roommate, and we didn’t have any cable, so we didn’t have any TV at all. I had this video though. Used to play it all the time. It’s one of the cheesiest, but not even in a funny way or anything. The movie just is. Is what? Is nothing. Describing this movie is like trying to describe the flavor of styrofoam. The weird thing about it though is Danny DeVito is in it! The music is milquetoast, the cinematography is bad and cheap, but it’s better than a blank screen!

Thing is, the vans themselves are cool. The era is not bad. It’s just this video might as will be a blank screen. I watch this video probably a dozen times, at the time I had no TV and it was the only video we had so we were just put it on, so there was something on. I still couldn’t tell you much about the movie though. That’s how it makes you feel, just completely blank. It’s not even funny for being low budget and cheesy. Instead of popcorn, I think for a snack you should eat some styrofoam. It’s not funny, it’s not edgy, no riveting story, the music is awful, etc. It’s the weirdest thing. I’ve never seen anything like it. You can watch the whole movie and it’s like staring at a chalkboard.
