@@Evolution-r2c very much better. At the time this documentary was made, bombs regularly go off on Borno State (that’s the major state where all of these were happening) and kill hundreds of innocent civilians. Bombs from Boko Haram. Also, othere states were regularly attacked and bombed. Today, there are almost no bombings and attacks have generally reduced. The current President has tremendously equipped the army and trained loads of military men. There’s also now in place a more competent military leadership. However, other security challenges have sprung up in form of bandits (terrorists attacking via guerrilla means, and kidnappers). But in recent week and months, those have also subsided. In the last couple of months, there has been immense success recorded by the the Nigerian military against the bandits. In general, the security situation is better than it was 7 - 8 years ago.

Proud to be a Nigerian from a military family. Our boys may not have the same weaponry as many armies but when it comes to heart very few soldiers on earth can match them. Iraqis and others should learn from our boys to defend their land without begging Americans to come and help them
@masterlightjames950 Жыл бұрын
Iraq never begged for America's help. America forcefully and illegally went there. There's already several parliament resolutions and laws asking Americans to leave Iraq, but they've refused.

Am happy seeing this, the newslines in Nigeria will never come this close to help us direct our prayers properly to who needs it, rather lying and asking so much about politics... God will continue to protect every solider

Good work Kaj. I think you are the right person for the job. Not everyone understands hot conflict like a veteran and that usually leads them to ask the wrong questions. Keep it up.

Another incredible piece of journalism. Thank you for covering this. Small detail, the tank at 4:15 is not a T-72. T-72 has a distinct flatter profile. This appears to be a T-54/T-55 variant. These are very common in developing countries and the original design dates back to 1949 (though likely this model is from the 1950s or later). It would be vulnerable to most RPG weapons.
@virussro58623 жыл бұрын
Its a t55
@alexei37552 жыл бұрын
Looks like a t55a, which is a more modern rendition of the t55 and would not as easily succumb to rpgs
@nonsojoshua3437Ай бұрын
It's a t-72 ,the variant used has a similar feature like the t-55 tank and this variant is the t-72m1

It's amazing seeing the morale of these soldiers. They put aside their differences and really fight as brothers. They really are motivated to kill these mindless terrorist slimes. It's seriously a beautiful thing to see.

hugh mirin Man I can't believe they still have a T55 running. War museums find it hard to get parts for those early cold war tanks just to put on display.
@Usmodlover9 жыл бұрын
APPLEPIE978 They produced up to 100,000 T-54/55's, I can't imagine it being because they can't find them but because they're, you know, tanks which not every museum can afford lol
@halloween4489 жыл бұрын
APPLEPIE978 dude 95,000 t-54/55 were produced, the afghan tank division got there tanks from finding them in the desert they found about 228 they aren't that hard to get the parts, ive even seen places were they sell running t-54/55s

Agreed, but when he was describing the formation, at time frame 4:11, there could be a T72 or a T64 behind him..... To be fair, at least he got it right that it was a tank! Most reporters describe anything with tracks as a tank...
