The Waybacks recorded live in April 2024 for the Hillside Album Hour at MerleFest. This time out, they performed the classic 1973 Stevie Wonder Album 'Innervisions'. This video features the amazing Lamont Van Hook and John Cowan on vocals with the Waybacks. The intro montage which kept us guessing goes into this amazing rendition of 'Too High' to start off a wonderful album hour. Enjoy.

I was a volunteer stage hand that weekend and got to set these guys up for their rehearsal Friday night at the Walker Center. I was sworn to secrecy as to what album they were going to play and it was so much fun to watch these professionals rehearse. Red Young has to be one of the best keyboard players around, watch the video of the Waybacks doing "Higher Ground" in this set and you will agree. If you are going to cover Stevie Wonder, you better have the chops.
