I can honestly say that I never, ever knew that this match took place. Also, it's still funny to see Booker T going through, what I call his "Rock Phase". He was wearing the Versace shirts, wearing the sunglasses, started to use some of The Rock's mannerisms and even let his sideburns grow out. Taking it even further, he started to refer to himself as "The Book" and started using his Rock Bottom clone, The Bookend... Seriously, WCW creative!? For some reason, this version of Booker T doesn't get discussed about. Would be awesome if you would make a video about this, Mr. Wrestling Bios! Another awesome video, Sir!

worse still, I remember when Juventud Guerrera started calling himself 'The Juice' and took The Rock's catch phrases as well as using the people's elbow. The other criminal act from this time was when Kronik became the K.P.A. hoping to mooch off of Farooq and Bradshaw

Awesome was clearly the crowd favourite in all of the Australian Tour, Goldberg was ment to be the star of the show and conclude the Tour. Instead after Thunder went of air, he let Awesome conclude the tour (after the crowd was split, then all switched to a slow chant of Awesome, Aweeesome, Aweeeesome!!!) So thankful I was at this show. Awesome night, Awesome memories Forever !!!!

Welp, Ryan that was a supreme video as always. But since you already covered, this piece of work, there was another "over the top rope" battle royal thingy thing in wcw. I am quite sure you know which atrocity I am writing about. Where Nash stood in the ring, maybe did some moves, when pleased to, and any other competitor did get "counted out", for any and every, oh so stupid, reason? I don't know which nitro this was on, but during the reliving the war episodes, we will stumble across that one anyways. until today, I don't know if I shall laugh or still cry about that "match".

I was a kid at the time WCW came to Australia in 2000, & I was super excited about it. Sadly, we missed out on the live events, but due to demand, they put on a non-televised show in Sydney which we went to. They actually did have a Royal Rumble style match at this event, which was better than what was shown here. I may be relying on nostalgia, so I wouldn't put much stock in my opinion, but the winner of the match would get a title match later as the main event. I can't remember much, but I do remember Nash getting a huge pop (he was my favourite), as did Scott Steiner. Steiner ended up winning it & got a title shot against Booker T (who obviously won).

I remember WCW in Australia. I think it was on Thunder where Scott Steiner was wrestling Rey Misterio jr. As Steiner made his entrance a rather small fan was heckling him. Scott sent him a look that made the fan sit down instantly with a 'Yes Sir, Sorry Sir'-look on his face. That was priceless. EDIT: It was on the October 11, 2000 Thunder. In case anyone is feeling nerdy.

What a hot mess of a match, the booking makes no sense even by this era of WCW’s low standards. I do kinda love how checked out Nash is during his run though, he looks like he’d rather be anywhere else.

To me at least, WW3 always felt too congested compared to the Royal Rumble. The idea was great, with the 3 rings... but there were just too many wrestlers. And it was pretty dammed sloppy a lot of the time, including the camera work. Hell, the commentators even had a tough time keeping up with the WW3 bouts!

I agree. WW3 was WCWs answer to the Royal Rumble match. However it had none of the charm and was always very badly booked. Too much happening at once. Which no one, including the commentators or camera men could keep up with. Just a mess. I’ve never really found Battle Royals to be all that interesting at the best of times.

The wrestling show that no one asked for and Bischoff didn’t want. It’s when Thunder was made that WCW started to rapidly go downhill.
