I love the WHO once they grew up, but this is just generic bs, with future stars playing the instruments. For some reason, some paintings, of future masters are sold at very high prices, even though they are not yet in it self masterpieces. For me, this just spells, the people buying those pieces of "art", are "complete idiots". Buying this shit music as art, is the same as them overthinking genius was a personal trait, and I only hope music lovers are slightly smarter than art lovers. Then we could say this is generic shit, performed by future geniuses, instead of mislabeling it as art.

The Beatles were also freakin babies when they started up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they ranged from age 16 through 19 (not including ringo since Pete was in at the time). And I also believe by the release of the first album, they were average around 19- 23? Imagine performing for the queen at that age, these children lol. But yeah, the Who made it even younger, and ARGUABLY, they were just as much of geniuses as the Beatles......or just Pete at least. Keith and the Ox are fucking incredible, way above average players, but it's all technique. Pete wrote those operas by himself in his early 20's!

CapAnson12345 I think he means like a relaxing style, like in my generation its more of a rough and aggressive style, but in songs like these, or behind blue eyes, its got the beat style to relax the listener..... I don't know, if u feel relaxed during this song or behind blue eyes, then ud know its either the lyrics, or the drum style of the song (Soft or aggressive).....
@blackmore4
@blackmore4 10 жыл бұрын
Agreed. But he's also the worst mimer ever. Bar none. I understand the boyish rebellion of goofing a mime scenario but his relentless awfulness at it, especially when watching a whole bunch of Who promos and TV appearances is really annoying. It makes me wonder if that grace and flow within his astonishingly brilliant drum arrangements was always a one off. On these mimes, it's as if he has absolutely no idea of what he played.

blackmore4 true, he probably had a hard time remembering what he played in the studio as well i'm a drummer and i'll play the same song a little different every time i just go with my heart and the groove for that moment ...thus the accents turn out a little different each time, depending on my mood guitarists do that a lot too

+Joe Dubya he certainly looks much better than he did in the late 80s! But you're right, I think he's still very handsome at 70, it's the eyes, the smile and most of all his charisma, which has made him look great all through his life (even with the terrible 89 ponytail)

I once tricked a whole crowd into liking The Who, by making them think this song was The Beatles. It was at a party, where most there were very prejudiced against The Who (or any good rock) without having tried them. I stuck on 2 early Beatles songs (Hard Day's Night, and I can't remember the other) then slid this song in 3rd. Everyone thought it was great _ especially the drums (in the non-vocal bit) in the middle. They were surprised not to have heard that "Beatles" song before. Then I triumphantly told them Who it really was.... ;-)

After The Beatles became such a gigantic hit in 1964, there were a lot of bands copying the same general Beatles sound. It was the sound of the times. I can't think of man similar bands off the cuff, but one of the now lesser known ones was "Grapefruit." I suppose you could also count Australia's well-known "The Easybeats," too. I'm trying to think of another one who had big hits, but all I can remember is reading of them, I think in a cigarette ad from a vintage magazine. I'm not that old, I just sometimes read old Popular Science or Car magazines.
