I have the last firmware version of Whoop. Today I ran 10.7 km and my average HR by Whoop was 140 and by Garmin HR monitor 143, max HR was the same by both devices. In general whoop now is quite accurate, I like it.

Bailed on Whoop about 3 years ago when I got a Garmin Fenix and haven't looked back. Given Whoop's large subscriber base, and their celebrity endorsements, it's insane that it took them this long to fix a foundational problem like "our HR data sucks". As you say, GIGO. Zero plans to go back to Whoop, as having a watch that does other cool stuff (maps, navigation, tracking, music with no phone) but can also be just a watch is the perfect fit for me. Looking back I can't believe I used to wear a Garmin and a Whoop (and look like a total sports equipment nerd).

I have noticed the increased accuracy while indoor cycling and walking. Honestly thought it was coincidence. Thanks for the update.

I need a „Garmin Band“ - now!

I had one for a few weeks and had latest firmware, but the cost was a deal breaker. I loved the data and it’s much prettier, also sleep data seems better than my Garmin. But $20 a month is a bit steep so I sent it back as the value-prop isn’t there.

I’m quite tempted to try whoop now, especially after training peaks integrated their metrics. I’d love to see some videos on this before I pull the trigger and buy one

I noticed improvements too. However, my Whoop terminates next month. Unless something magical is released, I'm going to switch over to the Morpheus system for the remainder of this race season.

Nothing is gonna make me get something which forces a subscription, doesn’t have a screen and doesn’t have a gps. I don’t know why anyone would when other devices solve for all these problems. I also heard from a friend that it basically told him he wasn’t recovered every single day. Anyways, nice video Dave but I’ll be sticking with my fenix for now. As a side note, I wish KZbin would stop feeding me whoop ads. I’ve tried to dislike them, say “don’t show these” etc but still they keep coming 😂

Which one of your videos do you recommend for band/ring with no monthly fee?

Great news, I'll change back to my wrist band for a day and see....for me the HR is realible only with the bicep band. Let see! thanks
@ganeshravichandran61822 ай бұрын
Hi Dave, I had been using this band for over a decade, and I predominantly do strength training where I noticed that the heart rate is pretty much the same to what my Garmin records. But I do observe some variations in resting heart rate which is not in line with Garmin, but I guess it has improved a lot and request you to add more videos comparing to check the accuracy.

Got a question Chase. Do you think Polar can do this with their new watches and new algorithms to improve their HR accuracy like whoop did?
@ChaseTheSummitАй бұрын
Polar is trying to do this with their new algorithm in the Polar Grit X2 Pro and Vantage V3... and results are slightly better but still not as drastic as with Whoop mainly because the old version of Whoop was down right bad while Polar has always been "decent" just not as good as their competitors.

It's really rare to see such a large improvement in sensor accuracy after the hardware has been in the wild for so long. Credit to Whoop for the update yet I can't help but feel whoop remains too expensive too limited and the hardware/design is getting dated.
@ChaseTheSummit2 ай бұрын
Yeah, very surprising to see such a huge leap on the same hardware!

My yearly sub with Whoop expires in August. It took 3-6 months to fatigue with the product and there’s no compelling reason to renew.
