Honestly, I think Susanoo only desires to fight Okita and give him the death he desired above all others since he respects Okita too much. Just like Apollo, we thought he was given everything or like other gods that has the title for themselves at the beginning, so they introduce this 2 Gods as a humble persona and they prove to other Gods that they have the title of God through their determination and to be able to learn from their environment as well.

no one uses magic, actually I think the only one who did something related to magic at some point was Odin, in a backstage moment, but other than that, everyone fights with weapon based abilities, I mean there are some non-weapon based abilities, but they are not able to inflict damage on their own, they at best enhance the weapon
