The Windsurfer - Lower Kanaha Raw and Unfiltered

This video takes you on a windsurfing experience sailing the beautiful waves during an evening session at Kanaha Beach Park on the Island of Maui in Hawai’i.
Raw and Unfiltered is a pure experience of what it is like to be out sailing during an epic Maui sunset with the awesome majesty of Haleakalā greeting you each time you catch another wave. The sun slowly sets behind the west Maui mountains and creates a spectacular ambiance that lights up the sky in the most beautiful colours. Enjoy the ride!

Kanaha Beach was my first windsurfexperience (1998) in Maui, i love this beach, nice people there (never miss a windy day) , return back in 2018, and we`ll come back soon, aloha from Germany

These video are perfect to learn the most important thing to go out with waves... stay out, get through shorebreaks, pick goog waves. The 98% of the time in real world sailing is not surfing waves, unfortunately. Just a question: how is your quiver and your weight? Board litres, your weight, wind, sail etc.?

@Leonardo Thank you for your feedback🙏 I weigh about 80 Kg and my goto board is 86 L. In super strong winds I will use a smaller board in the 80L. range. For side/side-off wave sailing the sail I use the most is a 4.6 in winds over ≈18 knots. When the wind is super light I switch to a 5.0. When the wind is really howling I prefer to use a 4.3. I typically to use the smallest sail size possible for the conditions even if it means I can't plane until I catch a wave. The benefit being a super light feeling sail that is easy to de-power in the bottom turn.

Thank you! All you need is to be planing and to hit the wave in the right spot where it has the most power to send you upwards😀

Awesome to hear! The best advice would be to talk to the locals at the beach before you go out. Every beach and day has a different vibe and the local sailors/surfers will give you the best tips to make sure you have fun!
