Darin one was the perfect fit he was funny and wishy washy almost like a Gilligan character. Darin 2 came across a bitter cranky man. He really took the fun out of the show.

I think this was the first episode in which the Witches Council was introduced. That Council "move" put the kibosh on Darrin's antagonistic attitude towards Endora. Having said that, I can understand why. Endora's popping in constantly without warning can get on one's nerves. In more than one episode, Sam had to remind her Mother of their privacy needs. Endora could care less about privacy. 🙂 That "bronze statue" is pretty lifelike. Love the episode. Serena, normally a fun loving soul, had to do everything she could, without witchcraft, to resist Darrin's advances. She zapped the bed out of the room. 🙂

At 3:17, the PERFECT example of what made Dick York the SUPERIOR "Darren". I love his reactions and facial expressions. All Dick Sergeant can do is purse his lips, tilt his head, and shake it. I hated that. It was so BORING!

Yeah, sergeant was terrible. I am from Austin and he used to live down there. My mom worked at the clinic where his doctor was. All of the people would get excited when he'd come in. My mom would piss them off because she'd ask "why are you getting exited? It's not like its dick York " I guess I inherited being a smart ass from my mom

@@MTknitter22 Moorehead mistreated Dick Sargent, blaming him for the change. Dick York gave it his best, but the injury finally got the best of him along with his medications. Also I credit Bill Asher for trying to accommodate his injury and work. The crew was also a hig help. Dick York always spoke fondly of BEWITCHED and the cast, AND Dick Sargent. I'll take his opinion. Today, I doubt a production would tolerate the amount of missed work that Dick York ended up having. I guess it doesn't bother you that Moorehead mistreated Sargent on his first day on set in season six. Well, it bothered Elizabeth big time, to the point her normally gentle nature exploded into anger. She told Moorehead to apologize. Eventually she did in front of everyone on set. If that weren't enough, on the way back from Salem, David White noticed tears in Sargent's eyes. Moorehead had said something again negative. Eventually she dropped it. Elizabeth loved Dick Sargent as a friend and so respected him as a person. When he came out in 1991, Elizabeth couldn't have been happier. He asked her to he co-Grand Marshal at the 1992 gay pride parade. Liz jumped at it. When he died, Elizabeth said that she was going to miss his friendship, love, and his courage. He had the same love and respect for her. I've said it before and I'll say it again, BEWITCHED was ahead of its time. Not only did it have two strong, independent female leads, it promoted acceptance, tolerance, and love, something we could use more of today.

I dreamed I was on the show and wanted Samantha to bestow onto me the gift of witchcraft. But she was all goody 2 shoes and was like " Now you'll be alot happier if you accomplish things on your own". But then I asked Endora and she was delighted I wanted to be a witch and she zapped me with powers of my own

Because I'm pretty sure that even back then they both would have gotten in legal trouble if Samantha didn't show up for jury duty because Darrin wanted her at home cooking and cleaning instead.

Actually, the most significant cases regarding women in jury service occurred in the 1970s starting in 1973. Bewitched aired from 1965 to 1972. So technically up until after this episode, Samantha would have had to ask her husband prior to serving on a jury.

At the time of airing it was expected that the wife would ask permission from the husband to go on jury duty, and in all jurisdictions that I am aware of denial was sufficient reason for avoiding jury duty. I'm not sure that things have changed all that much in some parts of the US.
