Distance yourself from unaccepting people. 2. Carry mace in your pocket.

I finally gave up on reading all the comments, because there were so many, and so much name-calling, and so many invalid arguments presented. There is a saying, "If you don't approve of same-sex marriage, don't marry someone of the same sex." That pretty much says it all. If you believe that if you tolerate homosexuality that God will punish you, then reread the Bible. The last documented occurrence of God striking someone dead for displeasing Him was in Acts 5, when Ananias and Sapphira lied about the gift they brought to God. Paul said that everyone must work out his own salvation with fear and trembling. What I do is no concern of yours. Jesus said that if your message is not received, move on. In other words, it's nobody's business who I love, or what I do in the privacy of my own home. The last time I tried to visit the Homosexual Recruiting Office, I couldn't find it. You just had to decide for yourself whether you were gay or straight.

@waynehowell61609 жыл бұрын
You'd better go back and reread that. Abraham was the uncle of Lot. Yes, the men of Sodom wanted to rape the angels, which is as close to a loving, committed relationship as a man raping a woman. Rape is rape. God was going to destroy the city before this happened, you may recall. Why was God going to destroy the city? Ezekiel 16:49 "Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy." (ESV) God looked at Sodom and couldn't find 10 righteous men.

When I was in high school in Canada in the mid '80's, a party we were at got crached by a group of intlerent joks and skinheads from a different high school. They made a lot of trouble, started harassing people and then started trashing the house. I got very frightened and left but in the rear view mirror of the car I saw them dragging one of our friends (who was gay) to the street. They were already fighting with random people and had hurt some people and I was getting out of there with anyone who would come. Later we learned our friend had been curb stomped by the skinheads and his front teeth and nose were badly broken. He committed suicide about 2 months later. I still can't get the picture out of my head of him being dragged away by these horrible people and I wish I'd been able to see enough in the future to intervene. Now it's taking a 180 and the gay community is staring to become very anti-women, which I find very hard to understand. I've never understood how oppressed people can hate on other oppressed people, especially those who stood beside them in their battles to be understood. I'm not of course saying that all gay men are like this but enough are that lately I've been uncomfortable in gay spaces and felt hostility towards me. It's ironic that it's ministries that are leading the herd in this, I was taught as a child that christianity was about love but the last 30 or so years it seems in many sects to have done an about-face. It's also ironic that the Ugandans are saying it's "about Africa" when it's clearly more ministries- homosexuality wans't a problem there until these minitries came in propsing the idea so homophobia is NOT an African construct, it's outsiders pushing their BS on the people. I don't know. I'm just so sick of bigotry.

You have every right to disagree with homosexuality or even to avoid interaction with gays. But your rights stop when they threaten another person's life and well-being. You have NO inherent right to imprison, torture or kill someone because you disagree with their lifestyle. Whether that "lifestyle" is homosexuality, drug use, prostitution or anything else is irrelevant. Uganda has much bigger fish to fry, like poverty, rape, disease and poor education. The gay outrage is a dangerously stupid distraction.

If a person's lifestyle hurts others then there is a very strong reason for imprisonment. I am not talking about homosexuality at all as I do not believe it hurts anyone at all. However, you mention drug use. Many people are hurt every day by drug use. This is something that needs to be controlled. I do not agree in any shape or form that it is appropriate to allow someone who is taking serious drugs that cause them to be violent and/or to steal should be allowed to carry on their merry way continually hurting people.

Again... Religion... What can we do to make people realise that it's all just a bunch of bed time stories...
@daylightbright76757 жыл бұрын
the prussian Okay let's go through this piece by piece. Firstly you can't disprove a negative and so because we can't prove the existence of God we can't disprove it. Secondly, sorry to say the bible isn't accurate to history or reality, if it was we'd know. We would find remnants of these kingdoms and huge battles it speaks of and evidence of miracles and magic present in the world today which I'm sorry just hasn't happened. Even if it was accurate at the time it was compiled which is doubtful, it's had close to 2500 years to be rewritten and redone however people wanted it to be. Thirdly, well yes it's theoretically possible that jesus existed it hasn't been historically proven in any way excluding the bible which we've established is not an accurate guide. As for the apostles, well it also hasn't been proven that they even existed at all either so that's not much to go off of. But you'll never listen so I'm not expecting you to care what I say. Christianity started off as an old style cult in a world where science and education were limited. It thrived and grew and although it's not what it started out as apparently the punishments and rewards it claims to offer are enough to terrify people into believing. The church uses you and others like you like a puppet, but you'll never see that.

@Tony Makaroni Right here is our problem, instead of you getting 3 replies like, yeah man, we need more atheists like us or whatever. We get these idiots that just wanna either troll us or make fun of us for being intelligent enough not too be delusional, and better people for not being bigoted assholes, primarily thanks to the extremely shitty Bible. So thanks guys for making the world a shitter for homosexuals in places like Uganda. PS: I'm guessing instead of feeling bad for these people, and I'm not even gay, not that it matters so much really, but what I find even more sick is that you must watch this video just to get off to their misery. You guys are such nice people and totally not anti-gay bigots that are actually self-hating, closet homosexuals.
@dancederborg99086 жыл бұрын
@Tony Makaroni You write, "Again... Religion... What can we do to make people realise that it's all just a bunch of bed time stories..." The sad truth is that you can't. As silly, barbaric, corrupt, homophobic, racist, sexist ...ect as these religious books are, and on the flip side, just as would-be good, nice, respectable, morally sound people. As I'm sure you know. Religion has a way of taking these would-be "good doers" and turning them into insensitive, bigoted, anti-gay, douchbags. Atheists like us are who may have more knowledge of what the facts are, are ironically the ones who are mocked. I don't mind being mocked by these idiots in the slightest, but in this case where you have people dying do to something very arbitrary like sexual preference. Their silly views that make no sense, instead of us just being able to have a friendly debate with these clowns, and help them see how moronic, and barbaric this deity is that they worship is, becomes way more urgent. It's so important to have people like you to help them see why they're wrong. It's so hard not just just give up, and tell them, they are too fucking delusional. Sometimes they are unwilling or too stupid to chance, but the more you debate with religious people. The more you realize that not all of them are just a bunch of Bible/Koran thumping retards. So many of these guys just need someone to talk to them with respect. I don't mean you need to kill them with kindness. It all depends on the person. You may know alot of these stuff, but because I don't know you. I'm just assuming you're an atheist, and a secular humanist like me. Anyway good luck man, and have a nice day.
@dancederborg99086 жыл бұрын
@Jo Gill I'm pretty sure that deep down, you hate yourself for being gay. Yet there isn't anything wrong with it. So what you do instead of bottling up that hate, you take it out on fellow gay people, and look. I'm actually not attacking you. This isn't all your fault. This is just the result of religion. This is what religion does. It takes would be, good people, well meaning people and turns them into, and sorry to say this to you but, "goddamn bigoted fucktards". I say this because, and lets be honest here ok. You say, and I quote, "When people realize fagots have a sexual retardation". Jesus fucking Christ dude lol. Now I'm not here to make fun of you for not agreeing with me. I'm actually here to try to change how you think on an issue, because you seem to be on the side of said issue, in which innocent people are being killed due to some ancient scribblings by primitive cave dwellers who didn't know the earth was in orbit around the sun, but let's go back to your response to Tony where again you write, "When people realize fagots have a sexual retardation". For your sake I really hope you're joking, because you have to know on some level that this makes absolutely no sense. I'm not all that concerned about your spelling of the word "faggot" in this context here, as it's a derogatory term, used to upset or degrade people. What I find to be scary actually is that you frankly seem to not have a conscience. How the fuck can you sit there and watch this video, and instead of making your heart go out to these people, you can sit there and call them faggots. This is not only sad, but it's scary. Then you say the phrase "Sexual retardation." This isn't even a thing. This whole thing doesn't mean anything, and makes no sense. Either you're a big troll who has no conscience, or you really just hate your own same sex attraction and are taking it out on other gay people. Id rather you be a troll to be quite honest. If you are actually strait, which id highly doubtful, then it means you just don't care about human life, which is just sad. Either way there is good news. The good news is that with a nice dose of logic and reason, you can go from being an asshole who preys on fellow gay people to the point of death, "because deep down, you know killing homosexuals is wrong. You're just in denial about it due to the fucking Bible or Koran or what have you," to being someone who wants to make a difference for the better. It wont only help gay people, but it will help you. I'm not even gay and I am a proud advocate for the LGTBQ movement. It feels good when you can help other people. We are social creatures after all. Anyway. I hope you can come to terms with whatever is making you have so much hate to the point that death to homosexuals doesn't upset you, and you even call them faggots, and use nonsensical phrases like, "sexual retardation." Anyway, and for whatever it's worth, Take care and good luck.

***** You are right! religion has been and still is the source of great evil in this world! agreed! but what people have to understand is that the evil created by religion does not directly comes from religion per se but from us spiritually ignorant humans. religion is there to be our guide towards God which,by the way,is the true purpose of life.religions sets standards of conduct for us to follow and those rules are not there for us to challenge for divine moral standards are eternal in their character: 'thou shall not kill' and similar injunctions will be there for eternity. Verses against acts of homosexuality clearly state that this is against the will of God,therefore those acts are forbidden by God. You will never believe me: I DON'T HATE HOMOSEXUALS, but it really upsets me when this people tell the world that is 'ok', 'normal' or 'natural' to be gay! IS NOT! THEY CHOSE TO BE GAY? FINE! That means that *your* statement about owing one's existence to heterosexuality can also extend to rape. If you don't like the consequences of *your* arguments, then don't make bad arguments. Many people have led wholesome lives with same-sex partners. Your continual insinuation that gays must change their sexual orientation to live a wholesome life with the person they love is an insult.

Eugene Koshanof It's *your* argument that leads to the logical conclusion that rape is moral. I'm merely pointing out that deficiency in *your* argument. It's called a reductio ad absurdum argument (look it up). I don't accept rape as moral partly because I don't accept *your* reasoning. Since the same argument you use against homosexuality would lead to accepting rape, it's a flawed argument that doesn't work for either.
