The World's Worst Review is a review series in which I am attempting to review a game whilst also never once using the words "good", "bad", or any of either words' countless synonyms. Should I make such a catastrophic mistake, a lifetime of shame shall befall my family and my children shall be cursed.
"Worst", "worse", "better" and other terms are relative terms by the way! And do not mean "good" or "bad" on their own and are thus fair game. Words with good or bad connotations do not equal words that mean good or bad.

I agree with everything in the video but I do want to start and ask your thoughts about a different point, which is that every hearthstone update brings in cards that are almost always stronger than the previous expansion and especially stronger than the ones before that. which makes making cards centered around “expansions” from long ago basically unplayable (except if you wanna lose or your priest), it would be nice if they made a separate section or option (in the menu where you select a deck for convenience, please) where you can choose a specific year, and every expansion that happened in that year (or perhaps before) can *only* be used when entering matchmaking (okay, maybe one or two cards to spice up even those decks in that environment, but you get the merit. I hope.) so that older decks and cards can be replayed again by bringing that environment where only older, equally powerful cards can be used, back. What do you think? (Thanks for reading this btw, I hope it was understandable, knowing I’m awful at expressing thoughts)

Every time I see a video about hearthstone aimed at people who aren't super familiar with it, I worry it's going to fall into a lot of the old outdated generalities that aren't as true as they used to be. I think I'm still scarred by that one guy's video essay about shudderwock that was 90% bad information. It's awesome to see that this video hammers down on how much better the economy and community engagement from devs is nowadays. Don't get me wrong, I still have plenty of personal gripes with the game. Overall power level is absurd, and big flashy payoff cards like heroes and quests make a lot of game really boring and linear. That said, the current team clearly cares a lot about the game. The new balance updates, dev AMAs, frequent new modes, mini-sets and, achievements make me really optimistic about the game's future. In any case, I'm always glad to see a good video from a creator I like about a game that I'm way too invested in.

Hearthstone and I go a long way back. Hard to imagine, I know, with someone tying their internet identity to a highly specific moment of WoW that happened long after everyone stopped giving a shit. I must say I wish I could just learn to love the randomness. The game is probably better now than it has been in a long time. On the other hand, I don’t think my health insurance covers “Created by” incidents so I’m SOL.

It's been close to 3 years since I last played HS. I caught myself getting angry after every loss one day and I found that the root cause was the excessive randomness. If you ever find yourself thinking the same, I recommend dropping the game and playing something else. The gaming landscape for card games is not the same as it was years ago. The options are there, so go and take them. Put the skill back in card games if you're sick of 'discover' mechanics
