I will never get over the fact that the person who composed the first Mario Party is the same guy who did the majority of Chrono Trigger and Xenosaga, Yasunori Mitsuda. Like, talk about a dichotomy.

The biggest problem with Nintendo's online experience (beyond the lag that comes with P2P and not the best netcode) is that they generally don't commit to long term service support. If Mario Party Superstars gets a new map every month or two and additional games they could absolutely keep a reliable player base. That won't happen though if Mario Maker 2 is any indicator.

I recently played the game with some family for the first time the other day and i think because that experience was so recent your video resonated even better. I know you don't hear most minigame themes for more than 20-30 seconds, but I'd definitely recommend checking some of those remixes out! I think you'll be surprised on how hard they went on a few (the Paths of Peril one rules)

IMO, the game selection is quite poor and this entire game feels like a MP1-3 jerkoff fest than an actual attempt at representing the games that led up to this point. If you want my opinion, it should have had 1 board from each numbered game (yes, even 9 and 10, and I have ways to make them work without the car, it's not impossible) and had 10 minigames per numbered game, along with a total of 5 games from the "spinoffs," like DS, Island Tour, Advance, Super, and Star Rush. Superstars is fun, yes, but when it comes to doing what it's meant to do, celebrating the history of Mario Party, it fails and only appeals to nostalgia with twinges of the rest in there to cover its tracks.

Would be a great game.....if winning mini games mattered at all. I swear this game has a messed up balancing system to help crappy players by allowing them to land on * LUCKY SPACES* and get *HIDDEN BLOCKS* more often. That and mini games hardly give shit for coins when you consider even second place gets some. And don't get me started on *Bonus Stars* now! What made the original mario party games so good was that even with rng being there, as long as you played smart and did well in mini games you'd win most times. Now bonus stars are dumb AF because they don't give a star for having the most coins or winning the most mini games like they use too. The bonus stars ARE RANDOM!!! Seriously......this mario party looks beautiful and the online works......but the gameplay is total shit. I think this is most hated Mario Party. And I wish I could love it. Everytime these game companies remake a game they fuck them up EVERYTIME. FF7 Remake I wish never came out. Crash Bandicoot and Spyro and are great, but they are technically remastered.....just to the extreme. The closest thing to a remake that I can think that went above and beyond what I ever anticipated was God of War. Sure it's more of a sequel, but everything about was remade. It's a straight up MASTAHPEACE!!!

Was was originally an anti-capitalist game made by a whole bunch of people on a college campus I thought? It was something like that Edit: so a woman had played big business and started developing an anti-capitalist critique of that game which got passed around to a whole bunch of people, and it got improved and changed along the way.
