This is great because I usually find myself relying only on natural lighting exactly because lugging around supplementary lighting seems such a hassle. Thanks for helping to mitigate this problem!
@papsny Жыл бұрын
It ain't a hassle if you're a professional, it's a necessity to bring lights and it is what differentiates you from an amateur. Professionals don't rely on the luck of DJ lights or good natural light.
@e_Dave Жыл бұрын
@papsny Are you sure about that? My Grandfather's a professional photographer and is about as old-school as it gets, and he's constantly using natural light whenever he can specifically because he hates hulling around giant heavy lights. I've learned from both him AND Markus that you don't need a million dollars worth of giant equipment to be "professional." The difference between an amateur and professional is experience, which can result in better pictures on its own. If you feel like you need a bunch of accessories in order to be "professional," then you're clearly trying too hard to look cool.

this is even greater idea , my light setup is kinda similar to yours ... what i did is i multi-purpose my camera tripod.. if im not using my K&F tripod for the camera im adding my insta360 invisible stick and thats what i use for the light, another cool thing is that the bottom of the tripod have hooks for the bags so im using the bag as weight to make it more sturdy against the wind .. and all the stuff can fit in my camera bag

My first video was about modifying cheap collapsing selfie tripods with with M to M 1/4-20 adapters so they would hold my LED lights and other miscellaneous gear. Photography is an expensive hobby but I try to help folks understand it doesn't have to be, and that creativity can overcome budget or other logistic hurdles. Keep doing what you do!

Holy crap, you’re dedicated to thoroughly covering each possibility is amazing. Thank you for putting it together to share. I was using a flash bracket to hold a double flash for a compact little one small bag kit because the stands tend to be bulkier. My compact stands weren’t quite tall enough but this has some amazing work around for every scenario between the rigid extenders, the ones that bend. Between this and the info on the light output of the AD100s, it will make for an excellent little travel light kit I can fit in a tiny bag like a tripod bag to throw in with me just in case. I’m thinking two stands, 2 or 3 AD100s and the trigger in a little 15” cylindrical bag. Appreciate the enthusiasm to discover and share!

You gain a lot of stability with the Godox AD200 by using the EC200 head extension cord. It reduces the weight at the top of the stand and adds some ballast with the main unit hung lower on the stand. It makes using lightweight modifiers possible,

Hello Markus, I've been following you for awhile now and love how you continue to downsize your equipment for travel. My wife and I do photo booths for mission trips and struggle to make our equipment light and small enough. We plan on purchasing the light stand and umbrellas you've mentioned in your videos; but we were wondering if you have any suggestions for a backdrop stand. We use a black backdrop for the photo booths. We use a regular light stand that folded up measures about 28" and goes to 7 ft. tall. And we use two feet long pieces of pvc pipe connected together for the crossbar that goes to ten feet wide. We would be interested in your suggestions as to what stands and crossbar would collapse and be lighter weight and smaller than I described; but still hold the weight of the backdrop. We need for the height to be at least 7 feet and the width out to at least 8 to 10 feet. Love your channel, thanks for any input.
@MarkusPix11 күн бұрын
PVC ??? OMG that is the worst, its heavy and sags like crazy. You poor darlings. You need a telescoping crossbar. Here are three setups amzn.to/3NHdQFY amzn.to/48qxOOO amzn.to/3YEsoMw

I use the Matthews extension with my Phottix PH88215/Padat 200 stand as my travel stand setup. Fits in a carry-on easily. I was excited to hear about stands fitting in messenger bags but those tripod bases make me queasy with the sway and that 1/4-20 thread on the bottom holding things. I've seen wayy too many extensions break at that point.
@timk8258 Жыл бұрын
I also have the Matthew’s extension. The sleek profile of some of these products is attractive but yeah the 1/4-20 connection makes me nervous
@BrandonLuckain Жыл бұрын
@@timk8258 What I've done in pinch situations is use a background stand holder, pair it with the matthews extension and a manfrotto magic arm (got some weight to it but that's good in this case). So you'd have a baby pin/spigot holding the weight, which is akin to what most light stands would be using.
