Very well thought out. This is also why, in my mind, it's kinda lost its magic at this point. There's just something about it, that doesn't make me go wow. When I saw the original case, I was absolutely blown away by its simplicity. This is starting to be overengineered now.

You guys should do a build in this, easily one of the best cases I've seen, maybe one with a custom loop. Also seen Gamers Nexus's review of this thing and the customisability is very commendable. However, I think for the top shield, make it an option to have the usbs and stuff like that nearer to the front, because a lot of people put their pcs under their desk, and may find it hard to bend down, or find it hard to fit usbs on the top, so if the usbs were newer to the front, the user could maybe have the case stick out a bit and they could fit them in far more easily, but this is just my opinion. Other than that one small thing, cool case.

The installation of all the components in the case was the easiest one I've ever done and the cable management was awesome. I have since ordered another O11D Evo to move my AM4 platform into. While there are many cases that allowing the motherboard to be rotated: for me, the O11D Evo made sense as far as price and build ease for what I needed. Thank you so much!!!

FYI: Buyer Beware: the "O11D EVO Front Mesh Kit" shown at 16:30 does NOT come with an Air Filter. The "mesh" holes are 1.5mm in diameter and are therefore unable to filter any dust for intake fans placed in the front of the EVO. I'vre had an inverted case for a few years now (Corsair 600C) and I think the cooling suffers a bit. In this case its probably not too bad as you could just do bottom intake top exhaust either way. I'd be interested to see how it affects cooling for the 30 series FE GPUs in particular. Ive got an FE 3080Ti and I don't think inverted is giving the best cooling for its cooler design, so I was actually planning on picking up a normal oriented case, though inverted tends to work better for my setup space in general. This case is now the top of my list as I can orient it either way.

I really like just how much you can customise it to suit your layout. The option to double the amount of I/O ports is also a nice addition to an already fantastic case. The only real gripes I have are in two places. First, the reservoir's mount position seems like a lot of wasted real estate (unless you can reposition it further along, making space for a PSU next to it). Meanwhile, the top part of the compartment feels like a great place to mount a fan, to push air onto the motherboard's backplate... Second, I agree the Upright GPU kit is weird, but using this with the Front Mesh is weirder - this is especially noticeable with a partner GPU, which either have some RGB bling, or even an LCD display. I feel there could be a Hybrid Front Panel kit, with most of it a mesh for up to 140mm fans, but also a 20mm window flush with the RGB bar to support a partner GPU's "wow" area.

In my last month of soaking up KZbin to catch up from a 15 year gaming and PC building hiatus, I independently came to the conclusion that this case (specifically the O11D EVO RGB successor) is all around one of the best looking, versatile, and great value cases ever made. Along the way I became familiar with and a subscriber of Gamer Nexus, PC Builder, optimum, TechSource, and many others along with of course this channel. It should not surprise me that you all speak highly of this case and that this line is one of the most popular out there.

Hey Jay. I'm building my first ever computer at 76 years old and this is the case that I've decided to go with simply because of your excellent review. It has the space and adaptability/flexibility to provide me with the confidence to have a go. The only concerns so far are the connections to fans and ARGB. But I will get there.

For me the biggest change is the CPU cooler clearance increase. O11 Dynamic and Air had too low CPU cooler clearance - you couldnt fit big CPU coolers like Dark Rock 3/4 or Pro 3/4, or Noctua NHD-15 or many others. I think it was really not cool to name the case Air and have basicly no option for good aircooling.

Great review Jay, thank you! Seems quite odd that with such a supposedly well thought-through case that a standard ATX board WON'T FIT with the vertical GPU! I was sold until I saw that. Such a shame - oh well, it will be back to the Phanteks Evolve X for me - best looking case around. Cheers from Sydney Australia

@@FastSloth87 yeah, but I was talking about the regular mini, not the air mini there. It's a really odd one with the mini and air mini. They reduced the height and depth of the air mini even further and that prevents me from using the air mini, since it's become too small for my planned build. But when I'm allready locked in to something a bit larger I might go for the EVO directly since it's closer to the stout look of the mini and air mini thans to the extra width but delivers more space and options than the regular O11

I imagine you skipped mine it was in the o11 dynamic XL Silver case. However someone broke in and stole everything including that computer so trying to build another one if the budget had been better I'd go with another o11 but it isn't, so looking at a KEDIERS C590 Mid-Tower ATX PC Case with 9pcs 120mm ARGB Fans, my only concern is its an unknown case and I don't know if its going to fit either a 3090 T.I founder s edition or the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ PURE Radeon RX 6950 XT ( I am torn between the two cards because I can get either at a good deal right now 50 dollars difference between the 2 and almost half the price of my 3090) The Radeon is white and match's the build but the 3090 T.I FE is the same price today and I do live streaming and content creation on a single pc and I had a 3090 and the 6950xt is an unknown to me personally..... however, I feel that I will be sacrificing performance for aesthetics if I go with the Radon 6950XT

All of their hairs will be in my case if so :/ I used to have gigabyte sumo y atx, it had 7 filters and worked perfectly fine for years in my situation. Any suggestions for me? wtf should I do? I wish all manufacturers put this much thought into their cases! The downside to that, would of course be even more expensive cases, but even so, it's great to see Lian Li do this and listen to feedback as well. I still would not buy this case, because of it's size, but if I had unlimited budget and space to put my PC, I would definitely be getting one of these, even if just to support the initiative! For now though, I will stick with my current build, that does still use an ejectable cupholder aka BD-RW drive, which is also not an option on the 011.

Gotta hand it to lian li. I'm an old school nerd, I had a ZX-Spectrum and did things as upgrade my 4mhz XT by putting an NEC v20 cpu in it. I've been full blow nerd till about the year 2k. These days there's no use. In the old days you could go to the store, spend like 200 dollar on something, and then have a computer which was twice as fast. Right now a million dollar couldn't make my 5 year old PC twice as fast. Not even 25% faster. The only last significant update there was in PC-land, was replacing your HDD with SSD. However, back to Lian Li. In the 90's and around 2000, they were already delivering the most beautifull cases, high quality and good designs. Lian Li = boss when it comes to cases. No other company even comes close to their track record.

Actually, no, my case is not what I look at most Jay. My computer is on the floor. I got 99 things to put on my desk, but a case aint one of them. Needless to say... RGB and bling is not something I consider important. In fact, the case is almost 20 years old and began life with an AMD Athlon FX 64 X2 (Ryzen now). Its a silver Thermaltake Soprano VB1000 (you can still find the listing on Newegg). Still a classy looking case today actually, with its piano smooth finish, dual 120mm fans in P/P, toolless design, and quick release everything.

This would have been my next case except for the price is too high. I think they may have had a chance of selling it if they included the front Mesh kit and at least 3x 140 PWM UNI fans in the front. $159.99 + ship then $20 or so for the front kit then 2 fans at around $50 = $230 plus ay least 2 more fans, not worth it at all. Fractal Design Torrent comes with 2x180mm fans and 3x 140mm fans for $189.99 and comes with 5 fans and all PWM.

Hey, Lian Li. If you ARE reading the comments, here's my request - something that is A, akin to, B, about the same size as, and C, better than, the old Corsair Graphite 380t. Mini-ITX, portable with a carrying handle, capable of supporting a high-end graphics card and either AIOs or a very-well-designed tight-quarters custom WC loop. I've got a great build design in my head and the 380t would be perfect for it, but if there's something better and newer from Lian Li, depending on the design, I'd rather use that.

talk about next level modularity WITHOUT looking like it is "missing" parts one thing I would LIKE to see the side fan / mount in front of the mobo tray having a solid NO HOLE option panel running the mesh front with a front intake top/bottom exhaust having a hole free plate would look clean and give space to 2 side tape fan / RGB controllers ETC to the back side also a "chimney" build with glass front and having a pump/res mounted to the front bottom fan in front of that panel I am picturing a water cooled build "chimney" style bottom rad+ 3 fan intake and an "old school" pump/res for the in front of mobo tray as I have an "E atx" X570 Dark mobo and a solid panel + pump/rez in front will "cover" the board extending "to far" and the wiring looping into the passthrough grommets 3RDly a solid panel would be great for modding for back of case pump and having passthroughs for cooling pipes I am drawn to the gun metal WITH the mash front for looks has a bit of the caselabs skunkworks "feel" to it without being un available OR an XL case AND being "unique" I know JAY you "skipped" on the 011s because they are "overdone" but a "rate your 011" would be a good episode look for the best / most creative use of the 011 in builds ans showcase the many creative builds "constrained" to the same starting point

Dual power supply is just future proofing for nVidia bumping up their graphics card power requirements beyond the already absurd 450W which on load spikes pretty much demands a 1000W power supply so that it doesn't crash. Given Intel's penchant for similar power draws on their CPUs who knows maybe if ARC ever comes it'll be similarly power hungry.
