The worst ?? Yea but alot of them from 2014 to 2018 had been driven well over 200,000 miles in fact these was the best trucks and best body style. The news ones sucks on their body style with no gain of performance change. Same HP like the previous body style. What a waist of money to buy a new instead of improving the out going ones. I'm keeping my 15 it's runs fine at 90k no issues

@KeithHendrickson1981
@KeithHendrickson1981 4 жыл бұрын
Have to disagree with you there. New body styles are awesome. That is why Chevy Trucks, even in this pandemic, is flying off Chevy lots faster than Ram and Ford can dream of doing that right now. Just got myself a 2020 Chevy Silverado RST crew cab, after trading in my 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT Double cab, and before that I had a 2015 Chevy Silverado Wisconsin Edition Z71 and before that I had a 2009 Silverado 2x2 which was by first truck. I loved my 2015, but wanted a brand new one, with low mileage and edmunds saying my used Truck was worth $35,000 trade in value, used to get to my brand new 2018 Chevy Silverado. That was a great truck but wasn’t a crew can so 2 weeks ago was able to trade it in for a 2020 RST Silverado. Performance kills the 2014-2018 era hands down. If you look at the front on the grill, they took the body style of the Chevy Camero and stretched it down for a aggressive truck look. Awesome IMO. The turning is much improved in the 2020 and we finally have some acceleration in a stock truck right off the bat. The infotainment is much more responsive and not as laggy like earlier models. Test drive a 2020 my friend, you will be wanting to get that truck that day. Night and day compared to earlier generations.

Yep they all have issues. I had a 2010 Toyota Tundra and that truck had plenty of problems as did others on the forums I was a member on. After that, I stopped assuming Toyota=rock solid reliable and that domestic=junk. I've owned Ford and GM trucks since I got rid of the Tundra and I don't have a problem recommending either brand. Looking at a new Sierra or Silverado right now. Mostly because I work with guys that own 2014/15 Silverados with 160k to 200k miles on them with no issues. Even their AFM still works fine.

Bought a 2015 Silverado early this year The odometer has been tampered with it showed 84k when I bought it but after not being able to get my title they told me I should’ve checked the car fax since it was tampered with and records show it had 155k miles I’ve put 10k miles on it and no issues strong and sound beefy with a muffler delete and flow Master dump exhaust. I also have the range AFM disabler which helped a lot although it did waste a little more gas. It’s technically at 165k miles right now after doing the math but it’s strong. Planning on selling it in couple months.. I need a truck under 100k miles to help me sleep at night. I’ve had 2 vortec 5.3s and this ecotec3 is just as strong with more HP.

It's faults Brake lines rust through Guages fail Not much else 2018 was second With the trans problems Torque converter Or trans itself For older 98 is solid The less there is the less to go wrong. My uncles 94 only the intake leaked oil otherwise kept on going My other uncle 01 and cousins 99 just fell apart, my other cousins 00 was very low miles due to frequent trans failure, Add the careless techs from backing it into steel work bench to not enough fluid it failed in few miles.

I am way way over 200,000 miles my full-size Chevy van with a V8 has nearly seven hundred thousand miles and burns no oil literally. Other than a transmission change and regular oil a rear end gear change and brakes and brake lines the damn thing is Bulletproof and seems to have gotten stronger over the years. The rest of my vehicles are over 300,000 miles. No problems 1 actually had a transmission change so that's two transmission changes and pretty much one and a quarter million miles and the engines are still strong. Okay let's address a few things here... The A/C concerns are NOT the compressors. All though they do go out usually 100k+ miles the CONDENSERS are horrible, they leak at the welds. The transmission failures are not what was described at all... they have torque converter failures causing a shudder. If it's not corrected it will damage the pump and junk the entire transmission. Next the NEW 1500's are awful the 5.3L and the 6.2L are having valve lifter failures usually between 5k and 15k miles. The 3.0 diesels are having timing chain failures at 80k and the 2.7L has remained fairly reliable other than constant purge pump failures and wiring harness chafing due to routing. Also the oil cooler lines are blowing at severe cold temperatures causing the engines to seize, to my knowledge this applys to the 5.3, 6.2, and 4.3. The 14-18 silverado in the 5.3 is probably one of the most reliable trucks you can get into. Yes the oil and transcooler lines leak and the things previously listed, but they hold up.

Not to mention the transmission and air conditioning issues they keep mentioning for the 2014, 2016 & 2017. So far the 2018 seems strongest but I hate that new front end look. Only other one that I like from recent history that looks good and doesn't seem to have $10k in trans+a/c compressor problems from the outset is the 2015. Do a review on that one please.

Funny, I had a 2010 Tundra and that thing was a joke when it comes to long term ownership. Tailgate rusted out after a year, needed a rear main seal 6 months after I bought it, driveshaft vibrations, the infamous cam tower oil leak that the dealer "fixed" 3 times, the bed started rusting through after a few years, and it had the famous air injection pump problem that left me stranded twice and Toyota charged $800 to replace.. twice. What really blew me away is that I later found out Toyota charged $400 for a pump that's identical to an AC Delco pump selling for $90 and lasted just as long. Toyota is BY FAR the most overrated brand sold today. I say that as a guy that was burned by my 2010 Tundra, my wife's 2009 Rav4 oil burner, and our 2018 Camry clunker.

It might have problems. The 2013 and older had the first version of AFM that had more problems. If it doesn't have a lifter noise, you can buy a Range AFM Disabler that plugs into the OBD II port under the dash and that will keep the AFM system off so you won't develop a lifter issue.

The worst Silverado is easily the 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500. I probably broken positrack on that stupid thing several times over. I finally pulled it out and put in a regular spider gear. But the truck also had problems with steering column issues. It throws an EVAP emissions regularly. In addition do having issues with the four-wheel drive. It also has problems with seal leaks regularly. As well as transfer case problems as I've had to build mine. But I do have almost 200,000 miles. Mind you 200,000 miles after $25,000 in repairs lol. I'm not saying all silverados are bad. But 2005 has got to be among the worst ever made!! Should have gotten a Ford as my friend has a F-150. Only ever had to change the oil and general maintenance. :/
