Damn I missed this one, but one Christmas when I was 6, I woke up to loud sounds in the living room only to come out and find my dad covered in bows and ribbon. He was super drunk and had opened all of my presents and yelled "Merry Christmas!" as I walked out at 3am lol. I ran back to my room crying and he ran after me, tripped, and split his head open on the nightstand, knocking himself out. Merry Christmas indeed

Jared literally hit the nail on the head. For 18 years I lived with my great grandmother so I didn't have a choice. After I moved out I continued to go bc she is Hella old and it's tradition. Plus I have kids and I go so they can see their family. What's toxic af is she doesn't want any of us there but if someone doesn't show up, she bitches constantly about how they were inconsiderate and think they're too good to show up. Worst Christmas ever was in 2013 for me. Got into a relationship Christmas day 2012 and got dumped Christmas day 2013. She hooked up with a new guy the day before valentines day 2014. 5 years of trauma afterwards and endless depression and anxiety after the 5 years. If the Ghost of Christmas Past came by, I'd tell it to replace that memory of mine with something that doesn't feel depressing 👍

wish i had seen this on facebook cause i got a good one. When i was like 11 or 12, i had 2 small pet birds. When i woke up on christmas morning, i walk into the living room and my mom immediately says "go look at the box on top of the birds cage before you open your presents" so i excitedly go to look expecting they had got them something. Nope. 1 of my birds had died. I of course, screamed and burst into tears, while my the rest of my family start arguing and fighting over her doing that before i open my presents, because she blamed the bird dying on me. Turned out, the other bird had bullying that bird and not allowing it to eat so it starved to death. absolutely my worst christmas ever. Not long after that i got rid of the other bird and never got birds again because of how much that scarred me lol
