I do personally think he is second all time, but depending on what you value he could be as low as 5th. Pele could get ahead due to international success Maradona could also get ahead of him due to international success, and his carrying jobs with Napoli. Johann Cruyff has a case due to transforming the way football is played and he did that both as a player and as a manager. But i don’t personally include Pele and Maradona for me. As i haven’t watched them enough to make a fair assesment, and i do consider like what James mentioned when Pele, Jairzinho, Socrates etc played it’s like a completely different sport from more modern football, the pitches was different, the ball they used was different etc.

Exactly. I root against Ronaldo in pretty much every game he plays in because of his ego but that doesn't change his greatness and although these are personal lists of the Top 100, Ronaldo has the numbers, trophies, and legacy that cannot be denied from the Top 2. Whether or not a player has an ego doesn't change how great of a player they are.

Kane should 100% be on that list. He has been the best striker in the premier league (the highest level) for years in an average Spurs team. He's a consummate professional, a Golden Boot winner, and the all-time scorer for England meaning he can stand up to the likes of Charlton who played football in an era where games were more traditionally high-scoring affairs. His only downfall is playing for a Spurs team that's not had the capability to challenge for honours, and in an England team that isn't on paper the best team in Europe, let alone the world. @@thetruth4654

There were, and have been since, better attacking fullbacks in world football. Cole was, bar none, the best defensive leftback of his era, one of the best of all time, and not bad offensively either. If the trophies speak for themselves, then Carvajal must be one of the best right backs ever, right?

It's tough to rank him because of his career path can only say he was at a top side for a few seasons compared to Ramos, who has been a top performer for probably 15 years.

I never really understood the Neymar hype. I feel he was more of a celebrity than a football player. He never really developed as a player and ruined his career early on. He had potential at Santos and we saw small glimpses at Barca of what he really could become but he never really reached those limits. The hype in recent years about him being amongst the greats is overrated. Arjen Robben, Ribbery, Mueller, Modric, Iniesta, Busquets, Xavi, Forlan, Tevez, Aguero, di Maria and Sneijder all had more successful careers than Neymar and should be ranked above him.

The world cup was a big deal then, and it started fading till our time, when the UCL is a bigger deal than the world cup, cos the best players play in the UCL compared to former times. Controversial opinion here but Zidane is overrated. Huge moments and huge ability, but there’s a lot more players who were a lot more consistent. I think the most important part to discuss isnt the list itself but the boundaries/what you take into account when making decisions. Is it purely ability? Because if so, the average premier league player is miles better than the stars of the 1950's - thats just how sport works. Its impossible to compare and argue about player's when everyone is on a different page and is taking into account different things when making decisions. Then when you add the intangibles like how x player makes you feel when you watch them or how ronaldos antics have changed your opinion on him - the line becomes even blurrier. I think thats what Faysal was missing at the end when he couldnt believe ronaldo could be outside the top 2 😂

I feel that trophies won should play a very minor role when judging a player. Teams win trophies, not individuals. A player may have an impact on that achievement, but it is not an individual award.

Creating a list of fhe top 100 footballers of all time is probably the hardest thing someone can possibly do thats not academical 😂😂. Theres just too many different caveats to consider when making it, not to mention theres been so many professional footballers that the difference between 1st and 20th has to be minimal.

Not sure we can argue that Ronaldo isn't above Maradona because of his attitude. Ronaldo is far from a saint but Maradona was forced out of Barca for a mass brawl. Was banned for 15 months for cocaine use, and had supposed links to Italian crime syndicates. Not forgetting the fact he Won his World Cup because he cheated. Both are flawed but at least Ronaldo has the longevity and outrageous consistency to back him up. Maradona was incredible sadly but he couldn't sustain it, because of his off-field issues. I'm not sure I'd have either in my top 5.
