The background of Floor and Henk is as a young teen she heard him sing the Phantom and started fangirling him! So almost thirty years later when she heard he was on this show(and they had asked her to be on the show as well) she wanted to sing POTO with him and he agreed after their first duet rehearsal together. I think all of that is correct but if not, the Nightwish Army will correct me.

Henk agreed before he knew Floor. The team from beste zangers told him she wanted to sing this with him, and he said okay, i will, if i can perform it with Nightwish on stage, when they are in Amsterdam, his hometown. After they met they rehearsed ones, and he realised how epic their duet was. During the rehearsal he didn't use distortion. He did it in the live show to surprise her. As an opera singer he never used it. He learned how to do it from his vocal coach, for Floor. When he sang Sound of silence for her.

None of the singers on Beste Zangers 2019 knew much about Floor when the show started because metal music isn't popular in the Netherlands. They had just been told that she performed in a metal band. Floor was picked to perform the first song of the season, and she chose "Vilja Lied" as a tribute to Henk, one of her opera idols. Definitely do another reaction with your wife. Maybe don't tell her you have seen it yet? I think she will love it. Nightwish has not performed this song since the video you watched from 2005. It was one of Tarja's signature songs and they wanted to leave it as is for the fans. Now things may have changed. Henk Poort is the opera singer who actually played the part of the Phantom in the Dutch production several years ago. Floor saw that production as a young girl and has idolized Henk ever since then. She claims to be a fan girl for Henk and relished the opportunity to sing this song with Henk. Henk agreed to do it if he was invited to perform with Nightwish on stage in Amsterdam next on their tour. Floor was enthralled by the idea and brought it to the boys for a grand idea. Hopefully this will happen in November 2020 when Nightwish plays 2 shows at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. This Beste Zangers show was a Dutch TV show featuring 7 different popular singers from the Netherlands, all from different genres. Floor was probably the most unknown singer due to her genre (Symphonic metal) not garnering much media attention or radio airplay in the Netherlands. This show just ended a couple of weeks ago. Each week one of the singers was paid tribute to by having the other 6 singer perform a song by either the singer they were honoring, or of a song that the singer felt a close connection to or was influenced by in their career or life. The audience are all pro singers. This was a reality show where each episode featured one of them, and the others sang to that person. This was the final song of the show, on the duets finale. Tarja Turunen was the first vocalist from Nightwish and was with the band from 1996 to 2005. Anette Olzon was the band's second vocalist and was with them from 2007 to 2012. Finally, Floor Jansen joined them in 2012 as a touring member and then became a permanent member in 2013.

The people watching these two sing already had floorgasms earlier in the show. THey are all performers and this was the show closer! Floor also got to open the show! :) Check out the entire season (season 12) from 2019. BUT, I have to say something. AVROTROS, the youtube channel that has all the performances from this show, has done somebody dirty. Denise Hofs is a total angel among us; she took time out of her days after work and translated the entirety of this season's full episodes for the English-speaking world without receiving or expecting any compensation, and AVROTROS had ALL of her videos from the show taken down from YT without a word to her. They have so far refused to contact her after she has tried contacting them. This youtube channel got THOUSANDS of extra views BECAUSE of Denise and they threw her under the bus. I would LOVE to organize a Boycott of them and have the channel die out from under them for what they did to Denise. I guess, give them a view for each performance because the music and vocals are awesome and amazing, but don't give them a like, don't subscribe, etc. Because in my opinion, they don't deserve the time of day.

She was a competitive bodybuilder in her 20s and has trophies from all over Europe, maybe all over the world idk. I know she can beat the crap out of me lol. I'm still a big fan of Tarja Turunen but she is not the singer Floor is. Tarja cannot hit that D6 last note that Floor held for 10 seconds and the reason is Tarja is a Mezzo Soprano and Floor is a Dramatic Coloratura Soprano. It was a stroke of genius for Tuomas Holopainen to offer Floor the lead singer position after Anette Olzon left Nightwish. It solidified the band and brought Floor out of a deep depression she had been stuck in after she left her last band Revamp.

However, the show evolved into more of a celebration of music and of the guests. The question of the host no longer is "who did one of your songs the best/who would you ask to replace you?" but "what performance touched you the most/meant the most for you?". So in the last few years I would say Beste Zangers = dear singers.
