Regularly available at the Museum Tavern Great Russell Street opposite the British museum Wetherspoons do do it but the guest ales change more than the wind
@bandsbikesandboozereviews4 жыл бұрын
That's good to know. They also do it in the Wetherspoons behind Victoria station or did do it. Not sure now, as you say, they change their ales almost weekly sometimes.

Dead on, greatest beer & great video, history. But have you tried Youngs winter warmer, slightly better, what do you think? Cheers.
@bandsbikesandboozereviews3 жыл бұрын
Not tried that one yet mate, in fact not seen it around anywhere. If I'm not mistaken it'll be brewed by Marston's who have a nasty habit of changing recipes. I'll keep an eye out for that one.

You should do a third video with the can version in my opinion even better than the bottle and closer to the cask

I've not seen the cans down here, only bottles for some reason.

For me, this beer is an end of session brew - you're bolloxed and want something to sip, that's not acidic - as you stomach is at it's end, it's got some qualities- dark choc and coffee

Stonking ale my go to. Have you tried the Riggwelter? Black sheep's 'rival' to this, it's decent stuff but not quite as good as this beast.
@bandsbikesandboozereviews4 жыл бұрын
Riggwelter was OK but doesn't compare to OP in my opinion. I've reviewed the Riggwelter here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2Sxf2Z_d9ljgLc

Cant go wrong with theakstons, Wetherspoon used to sell their draught bitter years ago now they have crap John Smith's.
@bandsbikesandboozereviews4 жыл бұрын
Yep, Wetherspoons still occasionally sell it but as you say, they've got a fair amount of crap for sale in their pubs too.

for the latest batch of this theakston are using generic bottles rather than the unique theakston embossed ones. reckon it's to cut costs, still tastes the same tho.

don't be expecting huge flavours off ram tam, technically it's a strong mild more than an old ale or winter warmer. taylors always emphasise balance, drinkability & what they call 'polish' above all else.
@bandsbikesandboozereviews4 жыл бұрын
Notice on the ingredients they say something about caramelised sugar. That'll be interesting.
@papalegba67594 жыл бұрын
@@bandsbikesandboozereviews it'll be ragus brewer's sugar #3, probably in brublock form. they use #2 in landlord. locals claim ram tam also has licorice added tho i dunno about that. more info on ragus inverts: www.ragus.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/IBG-Article-December15.pdf

6:59 "An owd aiw"! Why do cockneys have such difficulties in pronouncing the letter "L" within words? As in "Miwaw" football club, and "Jellied eews an' whewks"! The rest of the country (including northerners, who you slagged off for not being able to speak English!) find it ridiculous, and highly amusing!

@@GavJ_81 "....as it's too much for you beer." What does that actually mean?! That says it all! Anyway, this has nothing to do with regional accents, so it is clearly YOU who does not understand the difference. A regional accent is one thing; Britain has loads of them. But an accent has nothing to with it, when a person simply can't speak properly, or even pronounce very simple and basic words! You can have the strongest regional accent possible, and still actually talk properly. Which bit of all that are you struggling with? Most of it, I suspect! 🤣
@Jer08672 жыл бұрын
@@GavJ_81 As an example, ask a cockney to say "Millwall" or "Milk". It'll come out as "Miwaw" and "Miwk"! But ask them to say "Dolly Parton"; do they say "Dowwy"? No! They will actually say "Dolly"! So it's not as though they are physically incapable of saying the letter "L" within a word, so it's clearly a case of laziness & stupidity...how else can it be explained?! I expect you'll have some lame excuse for it, though....
