Great knives and love the history behind them, but the best part is the people! Good job Mr. Rob.

Priceless history, just priceless. All the more so today, given that Queen closed within 3 years of this footage.

I love this series. I feel like buying some traditional knives, and leave my new tactical knives at home for a while.

Very neat. Lots of history there. Nice to see such passion still driving such an old company. :)

1all's Pub I was really blown away that two young women in their 20's could care so much about an old pocket knife company. When Ashley was talking about being a little girl hanging around while her mom was remodeling the store, and crawling around on top of the vault finding artifacts for Ken, I just wanted to hug her! It's a very cool place and a very cool family!

Very well done, Robb! Perry here from BF, I have owned several different Queen knives over the last 20 years and they all are fantastic in one way or the other. Thought you really captured the essence of QC. Lotta history there! Perry

Fantastic series of videos sir! Nice to meet the "Queens of Cutlery" so to speak. I have a couple of Queens. A #11 utility, a small jack knife of some sort, and a large Swayback Clasp knife. As a PA native it makes me proud to see what great products come out of PA. Love it!

I've never had a Queen knife, but the new line coming in this year is exciting me. The buffalo horn, walnut, and workhorse series looks good to me.

I owned some barlow knives when I was a teenager but don't have them anymore. It looks like I'll have to pick up a couple new ones from Queen. Another nice video, thanks for sharing it.

Try the new Queen Barlow's with genuine Winterbottom bone. I bought both the clip point and the spear, and I love them both. Good firm walk & talk, but not nail breakers at all.....half-stops......and butter smooth! They've got the sheepfoot version too, but it's in ATS-34. I don't have that one.

Don Nellis Oh, I forgot to mention Don..........the ones I bought, that are still available most places, have 1095 carbon steel, with long match striker pulls. Very nice! I'm not kidding, both of mine have the smoothest blade action of nearly my entire collection. And that one we see on Rob's bench that he bought is the sheepfoot version in the ATS-34 in Winterbottom bone that I mentioned. I think it costs a little more because of the steel. But then he bought ANOTHER Queen Barlow.....the one in the video with the pretty amber carved bone with clip blade. Quite a selection available!

Yup, we have Elk in PA. Elk are a native species to Pennsylvania, but due to over hunting they nearly became extinct. So quite a few years ago the state started a program to bring them back. I believe, Elk were brought in from Colorado. I'd have to check to be sure. But now the population is strong. So much so that they are able to be hunted. Of course it is still strictly managed, and a lottery is used. But each year the number of tags available increases.

Kind of like the alligators down here in Florida. Biologists claim we have a half million of 'em in the state. But they work mainly in offices wearing their lab coats. I've NEVER seen a biologist on a night time excursion here in Florida. I can confidently say the population of alligators in Florida far exceed their estimates. But we still have a lottery system for the gator hunting season.

Howabouthetruth It seems the game commissions and state funded biologist like to tell lies regarding wildlife. Mt. Lions which use to be very abundant in PA, were like the Elk, hunted to extinction. That is what we have always been told. For decades hunters, hikers, and people who in the Appalachian range as I do, have swore they still exist. The Commissions vehemently denied such claims. Even after several were hit by motorist. Pictures were taken, and even made the front page of the local papers. They use to try and tell residents that Coyotes did not exist either. Of course every farmer in the state knew that to be a lie. Now, it is well known. We have too many and they are state-wide. You can hunt them freely throughout most times of the year. And of course the theory goes, the Commission reintroduced them both, and done so in secret.

Trevor Hollibaugh Wow, that sounds so much like what we've been through down here too, Trevor. Since 1969, the Florida panther would be seen occasionally in our area of central Florida. I've seen them on several occasions over the years. But biologists & Fish & Game denied it, saying only 40 or so panthers were left in existence & only living south of Lake Okeechobee. They told us we were seeing "bobcats", lol. ( Yeah.....right.) Until finally, a housewife in my town took pictures of a panther killing the neighbor's cat in her back yard. Cats had been coming up missing for months. Once that story & photo broke in the news, state officials were eating crow, and had to admit the Florida panther was all over the state, ha ha. But they are very rare. I sure wish WE had Elk down here!

Hey Rob, if I'm not too late, I'd love to have one of those catalogs. Not just for their inventory, but to have as a keepsake. Could any of us imagine growing up in and around such a place like Queen? I think it would be awesome and very unique. Not many businesses like that anymore, here in the USA. Thanks for making this video Brother, I really enjoyed it !!!

I have had such a bad experience with queen I really want to get another one. But I'm having a hard time looking past what I went through. It's kind of like what you went through with with K.O.A but not as bad. But I guess it time to give them another try.

I can relate, as I'm sure many others have too. I've got a few Queen knives that I wasn't happy with the blade grinds. But on the other hand, I've also got some Queen knives that are absolutely flawless and are about as good as I've ever seen made by anyone. I just don't understand how a company can make such duds, when they are capable of making among the best. But I'm rootin' for 'em, and I wish them all the best for the future.

luhoop There are some things to watch for, and I suggest calling your retailer directly before buying to make sure yours is OK. The main issues in the past couple of years have been tangs that aren't flat, causing side play and gritty actions, as well as very poor grinds on the off side (right) of the blades.

The knife had all kinds of problems. But what really got me was the customer service. I sent it back to them they said 6-8 weeks turn around. I checked in with them after 10 week and they said there was a delay. To make a long story short it was almost 6 months before they got me a replacement knife. After losing the one I sent them. Heck I gave Emerson a second chance I can give queen one to.
