Hey all! Thanks for tuning in! I wanted to clarify 2 quick things that some commenters here have helped me realize 😊. 1) I read a bad source and was not aware that Rihanna had hit CB as well. I thought it was one sided. Now of course this doesn’t change the gravity of what he did, nor does it change any of Diddy’s behaviors or making excuses. The one thing it does effect is when he says “it’s not right for her to hit him, it’s not right for him to hit her” it’s less of a misdirect than it would have been if the situation was one sided. 2) some viewers have commented that “pause” is slang for “no homo” to clarify that something was intended in a platonic sense. The beauty of this one is that even if I wasn’t aware of that meaning for it, it changes 0% of the analysis, in fact it might add to it 😆. Exactly as I said, it’s the imagine in his head causing him to say that, not the actual sentence, nobody would have thought anything of it if he just kept talking. It also doesn’t change the fact that he absolutely falls apart verbally and non verbally in that moment and his brain literally “pauses.” ❤️ 🤗

@Shanshu725 ай бұрын
"The beauty of this one is that even if I wasn’t aware of that meaning for it, it changes 0% of the analysis, in fact it might add to it" It really isn't that it could have insinuated something, but that he caught himself saying something that could have insinuated it. If I am talking about doing something like on a teeter-totter that involves me "going up and down on it", that is a "pause" moment. Nowhere did I say I was with someone, or more importantly, doing an act with said non-imagined person. It is a hyper-vigilant response because usually the audience would catch the speaker and use the response "pause" as a way to jokingly say "hey that's homosexual". You could say you ate a hot-dog and that would warrant "pause". I just want to clarify that it could really be the fact that he said "We woke up together" and nothing more.
@tikendrickhallshe-her-hers49115 ай бұрын
I’m not a fan of these guys at all but I do have to state that “pause” would have absolutely been something that he said rather than keep taking innocently. They’d be hyper aware of how someone else would interpret and insert the statement. Especially, at that time in history. It was hard to get through any conversation without hearing “pause” at least once. It was almost like the “that’s what she said” of the time.

This is what all abusers must sound like. My narc abusive ex used to talk about how it's never ok to get in between a couple no matter what, even if you know someone is being physically abused. Because obviously, it means that whenever he physically abused me, we had to sort it out between the two of us. I even brought up the question of what would happen if some guy was doing the same to his daughters. He said he would look at what his daughters did to deserve it and would judge whether it was justified or not. Narcs will find any way possible to justified their actions. Absolutely craaaaazy!

I’ve said this on other videos: instead of “request for approval” (shoutout to Greg Hartley and TBP), I call this “demand for approval”. These guys will hold that look and eye contact as a challenge and not release it until you give them the validation they are demanding. This means, “give me that approval, or see what happens.” It lasts so long because Ellen is a baller and doesn’t even flinch, much less give him what he wants. The term “pause” also has the meaning of being the word (for example) a group of friends are having a conversation and someone says something that can be interpreted in a sexual way, they acknowledge it by saying “pause” so the group knows that the person who said it knows it sounds wrong. It’s mostly a joke- but the way Diddy said it definitely has guilty conscience in the tone for sure

I am pausing to say that hearing you, at the 14:46 mark, say that people don’t go through those types of extremes is a validating thing to hear. When my mom remarried I watched her get yelled at by her husband and there were times where I was genuinely scared of how far it would escalate. And when I tried to (in my eyes) save my mom, he would often tell me that it’s normal for married couples to fight, but I was always in doubt that their fights were normal. It never escalated to anything beyond the yelling, thank goodness, but something about him saying “all couples go through this” rubbed me the wrong way. So I had to take a moment in this video to thank you, Spidey.

Yelling at each other in a relationship is normal. My wife & me are yelling at each other at least twice a weak. And most of the times that yelling didn't make any sense at all, from both sides :D But there was never any violence involved, there were like 3 times when I got angry and pushed her a bit towards the bed so she would be a bit shocked but fall soft and I'm not proud of that but I would never do something to harm her, since that's usually what you wanna prevent at all cost if you love someone. That's btw the creepiest thing of them all to me personally, is that Diddy is talking about being loved by everyone and named his last album the love album. That so freaking creepy that a sexual assaulter, pimp and sex trafficker even DARES to think or speak about real love when in fact, he has to pay people big money so they would have sex with him or he needs to force them violently into Sex with him or he drugs them to weaken them so he can sexually abuse them, I swear this 50+ yr old child molester doesn't know what actual Love is about or has a completely contrary idea of that term.

The way he's getting defensive when the audience was showing support from Ellen saying women shouldn't go back to abusive relationships. He constantly tries to minimize abuse and turn attention away from the victim into empathy for the abuser. But I feel if it was the other way around, a woman hitting a man, he would do a 180° and try to empathize with the man. Because the real truth is Diddy doesn't see women as people, he sees them as property and pawns in his game. Which you can see in the silent the power struggle he's having with Ellen and trying to get her to agree with him to get the audience (pretty much all women) to agree. Something about the way he said "I don't think anyone should hit anyone, at the end of the day". To me "at the end of the day" can be a qualifier in some contexts, similar to when people say "trust me". He's trying to make it seem like that's his overall belief, but implying that there could be some situations where he does believe that's okay (which most people would assume is self-defense) or possibly that he's suggesting he doesn't always follow it even if he says he believes it (which we now know to be the likely reason). Usually when I hear people use the phrase "at the end of the day" there's usually a "but" or "however" or some sort of contradicting statement after, if not before. It can also be a transitional statement to try to change the subject or as a final stance to avoid further questions or conflict.

If you have a history of being in physically abusive relationships you start to believe that all relationships are abusive. I’m talking about Diddy here. It’s obvious, from this interview, that he thinks this is common and that “everyone has dark moments”. When he says that he’s specifically referring to physical abuse. He doesn’t seem to understand or believe that this is not the norm. This is NOT right, but maybe HE is right, that it happens much more often than we talk about. Here, Ellen is saying oh I don’t judge, but clearly she is and he’s actually calling her on it. Diddy thinks he is acting as a good friend to both of them by allowing them the space to talk about it and resolve the issue. He believes this is a little spat; that little spat’s often result in physical abuse (by one or both parties) and therefore we should all move on and forgive. It really brings the most current apology to more clarity. He just really doesn’t know what a healthy relationship looks like. Sad for him (and his exs which include Jenifer Lopez who I have always thought has been standoffish from him).

I like the point about eyebrow raising in social communication. There is a subset of eyebrow raising expressions that seem to do with a challenge. As I observe it, it can be an aggressive signal. It’s warning a person they are on dangerous ground and approaching significant conflict. When incorporated in some expressions which include more prominent elements of questioning and anger, particularly with the head noticeably tilted back or forward with chin jutting out or the chin tucked so the eyes are looking out from under the brow ridge, it reads to me as, “I’m surprised by your boldness. Are you sure you want to do this? Because I might have to mess you up if you press me.” I think many of the people with whom Combs normally surrounds himself would have backed off in a hurry but Ellen is not operating out of a context where the possibility of violence is at least given constant lip service if not an imminent reality. She just charges on, and given the audience reaction he has to stay with it. Disengaging at that point would send a message that he did want to send.

Do the Usher, Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart and Diddy meal! It was crazy how nervous Usher became talking to Diddy. To the point he started sweating

That Ellen interview was so cringe n hard to watch 🫣

There is another interview I've seen recently where he says a woman he's with should accept she won't like how he treats her 25% of the time because he'll be great to her 75%. That he'll mess around on the side and she has to accept it. He says it in front of his son.

I notice that Usher seems to be very uncomfortable as well, he doesn't find it as hilarious as Kevin nor Diddy does. He's just standing there smiling awarkedly, as if there is some underlying secret

After reading comments, I would also say that he wasn’t saying “eating Frosted Flakes” he said wrestling over Frosted Flakes “a masculine behavior” which is very “straight” but it also could be a double entendres for bed play which could have triggered further panic.

I don’t understand when he refers to the darkest times… of the abuser??

Yeah he was “a friend going through something” like getting caught abusing someone

Something else I noticed when Diddy was trying to minimise the abuse being discussed with Ellen was the shifty way he keeps looking from side to side as he’s talking. I generally don’t trust what people say when they keep moving their eyes and head around like that. He was so squirrelly which makes him appear nervous and apprehensive like he has something to hide.

Wow, if we dont have the power to judge, we dont have the power to forgive. That is a really powerful address of forgiveness in itself.

To me it seems like he’s speaking in an aggressive tone with Ellen. Like he’s mad about her bringing it up.

No one should feel an obligation to forgive or support ANYONE who abuses others. Abusers have an obligation to fix themselves. Period.
