I'm one of the lucky ones I left the church and I made it back. I was gone for13 years.i been back 15 months . I did all my confessions No i'm a practicing catholic. The reason I left the church. I did not know what I believed in I was traffic by name only. I never heard of practicing catholic I did not know what that means. But now i'm practicing catherine going to mass every sunday and holy day. I go to confession once a month .I take Holy Communion every. Sunday.

As an adult with attention deficit I have spent a lifetime not finishing things. I thank God that He has sent His Spirit to me whenever I ask and I will finish the BIY on the 31st so that I can start the Catechism on January 1st. Unbelievable...what a year, what a journey, what a God!

There is something reassuring just listening to the word of God, day in day out, and Fr Mike the upbeat nature of you! I always get saddened this time of year, only because it has become a season of buying, and excessive eating and drinking for a lot of people. I was listening to O Holy Night and thinking about Jesus coming into this dark world, this world where everything is turned on it's head, where we have a it's all about me culture, confused children who don't know what they are, people dying on small boats trying to find a better life, and it goes on. Sorry to bring the mood down, God is love, God loves me. He is the light of the world❤

Something I find compelling..I haven't thought about this before, John..is this the beloved disciple? I found it fascinating how at times in his letters, he sounds like Paul..but even more awesome, sounds like Jesus himself..wow I've never felt this in any times that I've been studying the word of God. The Holy Spirit was alive and well in John..food for thought 🤔..

I subscribed to the Podcast. It changed my life. I was always a devout hybrid: Orthodox and Roman Catholic. I am finishing up the year in 2022. Just an 🎉awesome journey. It was rough, some days tired, but a gift. I just get it now. Everything. I am stronger in my faith of Jesus Christ my Lord and redeemer who fulfilled the Old Testament promise. Amen. When someone leaves the holy Catholic Church which is the mystical body of Christ on earth they cease to be Christian and invalidate their baptism! Protestant’s are Pagan,and anti Christ. Anti Christ because they reject the holy Catholic Church which is Jesus Christ on earth. Pagan because they use their own false interpretation of sacred scriptures which is blasphemous and they reject the infallible magisterium of the holy Catholic Church using their fallible authority! Meaning they put themselves above the Holy Spirit who infallibly guides the holy Catholic Church. Protestant’s belong to 40,000+ man made Cults. Watch the warning or illumination of conscience by Christine Watkins. Then The Papacy can NOT be destroyed. Then Don’t call protestant’s Christian. Then Following Padre Pio! God bless. Going near to the end of this Bible in a Year, I came to realize that God is not asking a lot from us. For me, when Jesus said come follow me, it means live like Him- love God above all things and follow His commandments. God had given me too much that I am not even deserving of. He had given me so many chances in life. Never thought I will ever read a Bible. Thank you Father Mike and prayers to everyone!

Loving our neighbor is loving God. How true is that? So much truth all over scripture.. God! Please help me make you the center of my life and not the world. Just like thousands of years ago, the world is not in our favor. So much truth about the adulterous woman in Proverbs chapter 30. The adulterous woman is like somebody who eats, wipes their mouth, and said that they have done no wrong. How does that apply to our life? It sounds like so many of us who tried to cover up our sin or try to make it less of a big deal. I think this could speak so much about other sins and not just adultery.

This was my first time through this study and I plan to repeat it on January 1st. Father Mike has an incredible spiritual gift and conveys the Word of God masterfully! I do not think I am idle… I keep up my space do things to contribute to the overall home when needed or asked or seen? Yet this part about not growing weary… in addition I do pay for my food. i pray for the grace to always love my neighbor. but i've never completely understood how not loving my neighbor who i can see means that i don't love God, who is unseen. December 21, 2023 Round Two Please, do you have just a moment in time to pray for Souls in Purgatory with me? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great, was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)
