Day 292 - Friday October 18th, 2024 The power of words. Today's readings are 1 Maccabees 11, Sirach 28-29, and Proverbs 23:9-12. And, recently some of the historical statutes have been teared down by the crooked godless wicked minions of satan agenda in some areas of the United States 🇺🇸🇺🇲. I am immigrant woman born and raised in Honduras 🇭🇳 I don't appreciate or approve of tearing down history even if it bad. Where I come from we have a state name Thanks be to God which in Spanish is departmento de Gracias a Dios, we have another state name Columbus which is departmento de Colon. Not sure how many of you know about the Catholic MP who was stabbed and killed in a terror attack a few days ago, here in the UK. His was a life of service, he leaves behind a wife and 5 children. His name is Sir David Amess. Abba Father, presence yourself with this family in their mourning, we know that you are never more than a breath away, we sometimes cannot fathom the minds of others, but take comfort in the fact that one day "every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that you are Lord" Amen

Great reminders about keeping good words in our mouth and also analyzing before dismissing God's laws or traditions. *_ Loved Fr. Mike's perspective on the proverb from Proverbs 23:10 about not tearing down ancient landmarks. It is indeed logical to know the reason behind some wall, building etc before we tear it down. Imagine wild boars or wolves coming in your new house because you broke that seemingly useless old fence! This indeed also symbolizes God's commandments, traditions, and law. We mustn't dismiss them without knowing the reasons behind them. *_ 1 Maccabbees 11- history lesson. *_ Sirach 28:11 - Words are indeed powerful! They can bring peace or start wars! "A hasty quarrel kindles a fire (unease between people) and a hasty dispute sheds blood (war, crime, etc.)." *_ Sirach 28:12 - The same mouth can create peace and war. Sirach 28:18- More people have doed because of the words they spoke with their mouths than those by wars. So we must use our words wisely. Thank you, Fr Mike and Team Ascension. Great lesson in Sirach “Don’t tear down the fence if you don’t know why it’s there “ we should use the same wisdom with the human body. Medical doctors for years have cut out the appendix or other organs because they didn’t fully understand the function. Then later come to learn it was not such a good idea.

@@deborahhamilton7018 he will I haven’t even smoked weed been sober 💯Even stopped my anti-depressants I was smoking weed five years straight and I haven’t smoked it in a few months. You can do it if you want it you have to want it bad enough, and you have to surrender completely into Jesus and trust in him because the dots still crossed my mind addiction will always be there, but you have to be stronger than your addiction. The only thing I’m on now is my anxiety medication and that’s a seizure medication so I can’t stop that.

Mysteries of the words we use are so powerful. Such good advice in the book of Proverbs and Strachey. Great advice not to destroy cool things and it’s also true that the power of what we say is so underestimated. True according to the book of Siyrach that a whip can create wealth and put our tongue and crush balance. It’s not literal but it applies so much in our lives. Our tongue is so powerful and the words are can either help us or hurt us and they affect others. Isn’t it so true that you can either blow on flame or spin on them? I would come out of your mouth but one and the other does that.
