weird enough a lager is one of the hardest beers to brew

My local supermarket (Booths) has an unbelievable choice of German beers. Whilst Augustinerbrau is a phenomenal beer, I consistently select the Ayinger Lager Hell.

Nice review! Never seen that beer in San Jose..I don't drink too many brews with that low of an ABV.. Not enough taste for me.. In the states, we call those " Lawnmower" beers, because you can drink them all day, mow the lawn, and you won't cut your toes off..Cheers!

The Jahrhundert tastes like what I remember Helles tasted like in Swabia. That is their export to the states as the helles is too pale and low alcohol to last any length of time.

Joseph Macaluso ... Where is Swabia?

Robert Fohl Swabia as I am referencing it is a part of Bavaria, the far southwest with Augsburg, Kempten, And Lindau being some of the towns

This is quite literally my favourite beer and funnily enough I'm drinking a bottle right now!! If you live in the North of England you can get this in most Booths supermarkets which is where I got mine today. Having lived for a short time many years ago in Bavaria I agree with your assessment of the Bavarian outlook on Beer and life! Prost 🍻

@@josephmacaluso1353 The Jahrhundertbeer was broken with the shipment, it´s coming with the next one.

stephan breme he needs to try it and then compare the Jahrhundert to the Augustiner Export. I just found the Augustiner Export a few weeks ago in Louisiana. You can find it in other markets, but hard here in Texas. I can’t wait to try it and if it is good I gonna send my family to get me some more.

@@josephmacaluso1353 That´s true, the Jahrhundertbeer with 5,5% abv is closer to the Augustiner Export than the Ayinger Lager Hell. It went Gold at the world beer award last year. I´ll send the hooligan the Augustiner and the Jahrhundertbeer for a challenge.

Have to disagree Höfbrau is good and a must do HOWEVER! only do once, and move on, if you want more of a traditional experience then try the smaller breweries like Ayinger or Erdinger or even Weihenstephaner in Freising. Even the Big 6 can get a bit of touristy to a point.
