I love your "training like different fictional badasses" series! I'm a big fan of things like comics and superheroes, the Witcher, etc so it's really cool to see that kind of thing broken down and explained in this level of detail, and also in a way that's achievable for regular people who are inspired by these characters. My one request would be that as a woman who's interested in fitness-- I've done multiple styles of dance, judo, boxing and kickboxing, and also tried my hand at running, weight training, calisthenics, and I aspire to start learning parkour (and in a perfect world HEMA longsword training)-- it would be really great to see this kind of analysis for more female characters. I really liked your Black Widow video (unsurprisingly it really speaks to me as a lifelong dancer/martial artist and comics fan lol), and there are definitely a lot of other badass female characters out there who would make really interesting video topics. For example Wonder Woman and the other Amazons from DC, Vi from the Arcane show, Catwoman, Korra, Toph, Ty Lee (tbh every woman from AtLA), Michonne from TWD, Sarah Connor, Furiosa, Ellen Ripley, Mulan, Brienne and Arya from Game of Thrones... just to name a few 😅
@TheBioneer10 ай бұрын
Thank you! Absolutely, I will do more female characters in future! And thanks for the suggestions :-) I tend to steer away from overpowered characters like Superman/Wonder Woman only because we can’t really train much like them. Unless they have a single gimick like speed etc. Lara Croft is one I intend to do at some point t but I want to do that somewhere really scenic. Sword fighting characters are high priority though atm (been doing more club and mace training) so those are some great suggestions, thanks!

@@pilarofstone I don't know why you are offended so much. Since you are a woman who knows martial arts you would of course know others from the cohort. But what he said is true. There are few. The 2 martial arts I think you can boil Jason down to would be Lethwei and Wrestling. Lethwei for strikes, think Muay Thai but with head butts where he can put his helmet to use if he has it. And Wrestling because he's explosive and it builds massive grit.

Incorrect. It's more than that. Jason Todd got the same ninjitsu type of training as batman from Rash Al Goul and Talia Al Goul, ((snickers) The only woman to sucessfully r4p3 batman). You should know what the result of that was. I digress. Jason trained with them for years before he returned To Gotham as The Red Hood. So, he knows much more than only even three martial arts.

This is accurate when it comes to meeting Red Hood's attribute demands. As much us your focus is speed, skill training, gaining functional strength etc, I would also emphasise on weight and strength training. Red Hood is 6"00 and 225lbs. Having the build and skills would be an asset in my and others book. Keep up with the videos as we learn from you and the community.

Fun fact: Batman is 6'2 (1.88 m) and Red Hood is 6'0 (1.83 m). However, despite being shorter than Bruce, Jason is actually heavier, with Bruce weighing around 210 lbs (95 kgs) and Jason weighing 225 lbs (102 kg). Red Hood is also typically depicted eating food with a higher calorie intake like (he eats a lot of hamburgers) and taking that into consideration along with his height-to-weight ratio makes me theorize that Jason's training and diet are more focused on building brute strength.

When training at home, I'll often do dry fire training between sets or as the "rest" round of a circuit. It can help to train to maintain your fundamentals while your heart rate is high, and would probably improve your ability to shoot while under stress.

I feel the need to comment this. Jason's height tends to fluctuate. He's been anywhere from 6ft to 6ft 5in. Batman is always a solid 6ft 2in. However, since becoming Red Hood, Jason has always been a solid 225lbs. That's 15lbs heavier than Batman. So, Jason is usually (canonically) bigger than Bruce.

Its already been mentioned by several people but Jason is actually the real tank of the bat-fam. Hes bulkier and more head-on in his combat style then Bruce. I think this is a great adaptation of training for the explosive strength and combat specific endurance needed to be like Jason though so very well done as usual. Id personally add something like the westside method of powerlifting or strongman in on top of this and your martial arts and gymnastics training during the week to really build that functional mass. The dynamic effort days of conjugate would also lend themselves well to over-all power development and strongman is all about expressing strength for repeated effort and muscular endurance.

If you try to build functional strenght, speed AND train coordination while winded out, I recomend you look into training with Sai's (the little trident/fork weapons that Raphael of the Turtels uses) I'm not kidding, if you perform the right movements with speed and power, those things whill wind out your arms and strenghen your WRISTS specifically well, and even beyond that either helps you comoensate or outright REPAIRS damage done to your wrists and hands. I was a chef for about 10 years, always exercising for fun and to keep healthy, nothing to crazy. But my wrists and especialy the corporal tunnel of my thumbs where sufferin HARD from both the training, but more so my job. It got so bad that I actually had to call in sick a couple of times because of it. Doctors told me they could not help me without some surgery and even then it would probably just get worse with time anyways... I was always into martial arts weapons training, it was my thing to unwind and let go of the 'pressure' after a weight lifting session. So one day, I decided to add the Sai's to my collection/skillset. After 'playing' and figuring out some stuff and movements, particualy, a spin where you kinda pinch the Sai between your thumb and palm, I startet to realize my corporal tunnel pain to just evaporate VERY quickly with repeated training sessions. Been doing it ever since, still am a chef, now 16 years in the job. It did WONDERS for me. A srt of training Sai,s (no edges or points but full Stainless Steel) cost me about 40 bucks on amazon back then. The wrapping on the Grip #ucks but you can replace it with something fitting for your hands. Everybody is different, like the Bioneer states, but this may help some people out there. Sorry for my poor english, its not my first language

I think I get it now, the thing wrong with your punches. Now I’m a boxer myself, so I have seen myself, other boxers as well as pro boxers and ufc fighters on TV when they punch, and whenever I see your punches, it seems weird. The thing is you don’t have the “snap” we fighters have, and your guard is a bit amateur, good enough though for beginners. But yeah, that is true, you don’t have the snap yet my friend, so u maybe strong as batman, but batman can still hit harder and faster due to the snap. One thing you can do is, slow shadow boxing and when you punch, you stretch your shoulder further, now while doing it faster can cause injury, but if you do it slowly and look at your self in the mirror for the technique, you will have the best punch when you do it faster. I hope you save Gotham soon.
@eru646110 ай бұрын
Actually, now it’s just my thinking, that your huge amount of muscle, the fact you have become a behemoth of a man, is preventing you from having a snap in your punch. Like your shoulder muscles are really good bro,respect, but maybe it’s too big for punching stuff. I think you should to shoulder mobility exercises or something, idk about this muscle thing, maybe ask some coach, I just know how to box lol, that’s my life.
