Making A Complete Cinematic Universe Entirely Out of Canceled DCEU Movies

Warner Bros loves announcing movies that are in development but most of those movies never see the light of day. There are so many JUST from the DCEU that I was able to bring together an entire Cinematic Universe. The universe is unorthodox but it's arguably more coherent than the actual DCEU.

@@bashengatheblackmanta7003 Or even the full slate of DC animated Direct to DVD films, something that I dearly wish Marvel would actually look at, they did a few animated films back in to 00s, but they are way outnumbered by the DC equivalent, particularly since there are so many great Marvel stories that could never be adapted, at least not accurately into the MCU (for a start how many great crossover events include Steve or Tony)

Even though not perfect, it's amazing what Marvel was able to pull of with the limited options they had at the beginning of the MCU and how they managed to build off from that compared to what WB & DC tried to do after seeing their success. It's amazing what a lack of planning, confidence, rushing things through and being indecisive/second-guessing themselves every step of the way. They did have their own successes but had a lot more misses and mediocre films rather than outright big hits.

Ikr. I've been loyal to Marvel for basically my whole life. Even tho modern Marvel has taken more Ls than past years, I never find myself losing faith in the brand, mainly bc I don't take movies seriously enough to actively look for every little thing wrong with it, bc for me, the positives usually outweigh the negatives. While I like DC's stuff a fair amount, too, the only thing keeping me watching DC stuff is not only what James Gunn has made for it so far, but also the animated movies and shows that came before. I can thank HBO Max for that one lol

I love these type of videos!! They are a great creative exercise. Would like to point out tho, you definetly could've used Will Beall's cancelled Justice League movie (which eventually turned into the Snydercut, sort of... And the story beats weren't that much different) instead of just retooling the Snydercut, although it does make sense as that would already create a different movie. And another one could've been the original "Man of Steel" titled movie, that being the Superman Returns sequel we (and he) never got to see, but also, the MoS2 plan of brainiac is another carry over from the Brandon Routh cancelled sequel, so it's just nitpicking at this point for the sake of variety lol. In conclusion, keep these coming!!

Not only the cancelled movies but also the CW Arrowverse Tv shows are underrated. Shows like The Flash, Arrow, Superman and Lois, Black Lightning, League of Legends, Supergirl and Batgirl are gems of their own and I love their crossover sagas like Elseworld and Crisis.

Because Warner Bros is dumb. I've heard people say that the movie sounded awful and would have tarnished the brand, but that wouldn't have mattered. Nothing is going to tarnish the Batman brand. NOTHING. We had Batman and Robin. We have decades of jokes about Batman being in... um... a relationship with at least one of the Robins. We had the Snyder films. None of those hurt the brand, so there's nothing Batgirl could have done. Instead, the chose to write the movie off on their taxes, because when you are one of the biggest studios in Hollywood for some reason, you can just do that.

So basically the DC extended universe was such a mess that they had to cancel so many in progress movies to save their reputation, especially when all of those details you stated could've make it a hit like the MCU, it kind of doesn't make sense and doesn't sound fair to me. The MCU had some of movies themselves, but they didn't cancel them and their reputation is still great, I just don't see much of a reason for the DCEU to cancel more movies than they released. Could you do another dc cinematic universe but completely different with new ideas, stories, movies not based off of the mcu or any existing movies but maybe just slightly inspired by those things. What I mean is, would you do more movies or less movies, would you do shows throughout the first 3 phases, would you even do it in phases, what would be the big story at the end or would you just a bunch different stories and maybe build up another story but not everything necessarily leads to Darkseid or whatever the big bad at the end would be. How would you do the justice league, would you go with the original lineup or just do the holy trinity and add 4 different characters of your choosing. Would you give every superhero their own movie. What heroes would you use. How many would their be. Would you use more obscure characters and teams???
