Our company makes us get composite toe loggers because theyre afraid we will get electrocuted and the steel toes will blow r feet off. And we run chainsaws 8-14 hours a day lol

I guess I am one of those guys that has never heard of not using Comp Toe boots with a chainsaw. Can someone enlighten me. Thanks, happy holidays

Absolutely. The chainsaw will slice right through the composite toe. The chainsaw will not slice right through a steel toe. Its as simple as that.

Yep. The teeth from the saw will grab right onto the composite toe. It’ll almost guide the teeth of the saw into your foot.

I prefer having composite toe over steel toe even when I’m running saw

Double up your socks. You'll find your feet stay far more dry. The sweat passes through the first sock and into the second.

Fill me in. Im a brick layer and wonder why don't you want to wear a composite logger for running a chain saw?
@idktho4304

The general consensus is that a composite toe is likely to be better protection against a chainsaw than no toe protection, and worse than a steel toe. Hence, if your feet spend a lot of time around chainsaws, you should probably have a steel toe. I haven't seen any real Mythbusters-style or like math-based evidence of this, but it seems likely.

I can't imagine it would matter either way. Most likely, once the chainsaw cuts into the leather, pieces of leather will get pulled into the chain and cause the saw to bind up and stop. I feel like it would take a while to cut through the leather and into the safety toe, too, plenty of time to stop the saw or get your foot out of the way. On the other hand, there's no real advantage to a composite toe in chainsaw situations, so why risk it? Just get the steel toe and play it safe.

@@outdoorogre4279 where abouts did you find this info? Your comment made me want to look into it a little more myself. I see that they have Australian standard safety boots available as well as those suitable for a North American market. However all the links that I could find ended up pointing to a factory in Qujiang Industrial Area, China. I do feel as though if they were locally made they would use that more in marketing the way Blundstone celebrates being made in Tasmania. I would love to be wrong here though as I am always on the look out for good quality locally made boots.

Hi guys, I am looking for work shoes that don't sleep on oily surfaces. I have looked everywhere and can't find anything. I work at a butcher shop were the floor is practically covered in butter and water. Does anyone have any recommendations?

They're easily some of the worst boots I've ever tried. They will rub the crap out of your ankle which is not completely terrible at least for a cheaper boot to do because it will stop as they break in the real crappy part with this boot is the leather is way too soft and feels slimy when it is wet. It is nowhere near waterproof like they claim and I would imagine that the other claims are dubious as well considering the fact that the pair I had the sole started coming loose inside of a week.
