Thank you so much. For one year now I 've been struggling with Long Covid and breathing exercise is definitely a key to get a bit of control. Although I usually have the feeling that I don't get enough air and want to do exercises that deepen the breath, in times of a crash when my nervous system runs crazy this light breathing does really help. 🙏

I'm so glad to hear that the breathing exercises have been helpful for you! Keep up the good work and stay strong. You're not alone in this journey. Usually, if you feel like you are not getting enough air, then the Buteyko practices are just what you need to re-set the breathing centre.

@thebuteykomethod

Yes that can happen, it's often because there is some subtle controlling of the breath going on. If you try i again, as best you can, allow the breath and relax the belly. There is also this alternative which is focused on the diaphragm which most people find calming: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXbMiaSHrdZso9ksi=-c9O6BgaVHxva0yE
@nimimerkillinen
@nimimerkillinen Жыл бұрын
@@thebuteykomethod Thanks, i can relate to the subtle control thing but if im especially stressed and have stress reaction(s) in addition to less common ones like thought OCDs and dissociation. it would easily turn into control of breathing calmly so might be good idea for me to try to be in more of a calm state to start with, relaxing and belly breath part i do already - imma check that video thanks again

I remember a teacher on YT mentioning the nose hold allows the diaphragm to relax -- maybe see if you can sense that connection more (maybe altering how you pinch the nose) and that can help :)
@thebuteykomethod
@thebuteykomethod Жыл бұрын
Is that in general or just during the Breathe light exercise? If the diaphragm is starting to spasm then the air hunger could be too strong, try going more gently . Also it could be that there is some tension in the belly - trying softening the belly. Hope that helps 🙏🏽

@thebuteykomethod

Yes, practicing Buteyko breathing exercises before bed can be quite beneficial. They help in calming the mind and body, promoting relaxation, which can lead to a more restful sleep. It's not surprising that you started dozing off after trying it! This calming effect is one of the reasons why many people find Buteyko exercises helpful as part of their bedtime routine. Sweet dreams and happy breathing! 😊💤🌙

Hello. What are the potential bad effects of a small-hole and constantly stuffy nose? My nose is thin, with small holes and always stuffy, which prevents me from breathing deeply through my nose. I also suffer from allergic rhinitis and asthma. What kind of negativities could this cause in my life, big small etc?
@thebuteykomethod
@thebuteykomethod Жыл бұрын
I wrote an article here about this www.thebuteykomethod.com/buteyko-breathing/6-reasons-to-stop-mouth-breathing. Asthma and allergic rhinitis are actually caused my mouth breathing. So it's chicken and egg. By using the buteyko breathing exercises to unblock and then keep your nose open, you can restore nasal breathing even if you have a small or blocked nose. You can use this exercise as a gentle nose opener (just don't pinch the nose, but rather gently block the nostrils): kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIvZmH6wrriCnbcsi=ExSI73eJQx7pbzof
