Great video Greg. I just want to say that I just got my Miata a few months ago, and within the last week I just finished replacing the timing belt and water pump thanks to your awesome tutorial video. It took me 20 hours to replace the timing belt and water pump although I am only 16. This was also the first time I have ever worked on a car before and I did it with no help and minimal tools. My number one piece of advice for someone with no experience like me would be find a friend or acquaintance who has worked on cars before and have them help you. (P.S. I live in Florida and have no garage so another thing I learned is that I need to buy one of those tailgating tents and a big fan lol.)

Im running a very conservative set up, 15x8 on 205s with +25 offset, im not SUPER low (probably around 1.5 fingers of wheel gap) but surprisingly this still would rub on fender liner at full lock (like in parking lots) and squeak super loud so i removed it. You could just notch out the section of fenderliner but living in southern california it wasnt much of a worry for me. I just pull my wheels off and clean out the fender well every few washes. Loving my current fitment but will eventually need adjustable upper control arms in the back due to too much negative camber for my liking. *I do have a mild fender roll*

I did exactly just this a couple years ago. I rock 15x10 6ULs and 145 Maxxis tires on my NB2. My advice would be to cut the tab at that top of the fender lip before rolling and pulling. I actually ended up taking my car to a fab shop and having them make a pie cut in the front fender so I could pull it out just a tad bit more and now I have all the clearance I need.

Had a 1999 10.Anni with 195/ 50 R 15 Hankook RS 3- 222 Semi slicks. Was OK, enough grip for all situations on a public road. Was also runnig perfect straight at full speed here in no speed limit Germany. Test drove the latest NB with 205 - tires. Straight line performance was not perfect so it seems 195/50 is the best compromise for a ( stock / Bilstein ) NB Miata if driven full speed. Now I have a ND with street legal big brake kit front ( K sport forged 4 pot ) so it was necessary to add 20 mm spacer for clearence the calipers to the stock 17" aloys what I want to keep. Actually I just bought a 2. set of stock 17" alloys for semi slicks. Straight line performance is still OK with the 205/45 tires, dont want a lower profile to prevent demages. Car has also the stiffer springs from Eibach ( Mazda - original item here in Germany ) and Bilsteins from factory.

When I do get mine I think I'll run 15x8s, with either ET10 or ET0. I'd obviously prefer the wider of the two, but my top priority is no rubbing whatsoever under any real life circumstance. I don't want that car to be any short of daily friendly. Luckily that seems to be very much doable. Also where did your rear badge go?
@dil69694 жыл бұрын
Looks amazing, but this is a little hardcore for me. It's why I ultimately chose 15x7 6ULs with a 195 width tire. For a street car with stock power, this is more than enough and it's pretty much plug-n-play for any year Miata. I have yet to hear or see any rub with completely stock fenders/liners. It doesn't get you too much street cred, but tire options are plenty for a 15" wheel and it looks far better than the stock daises that so many NA6s came with. I also like the extra ground clearance they gave me, because streetcar. In the future, with more disposable income, I could see going to an 8" or even a 9" inch wide wheel. For now, I'm pretty content with the setup.

Looking at 225/40/16 rear, 215/40/16 front on +35 wheels. Would prefer to keep the fender liners as it's my daily in Oregon...

For Miatas specifically: GoodWin Racing says on their site what fender/camber modifications are needed for the wheels they sell (with recommended tire size). Don't need to but from them either lol

Running 15x9 6ULs with 225 RS4s, Budget Bilstein coils, and a mild fender roll. No rub on my NA.

Currently I'm running 15x8 with a 205/50R15 and I was looking forward to run some 15x10 like you do. The problem is, that I live in Germany and we've got very strict laws for modified cars, so a rubbing wheel is just a thing we can not drive around with. I guess I have to shoot for 15x9 now :(
