I’m with ya Jacob…life is short and precious. And the older you get the more you realize that. It’s strange how you start to lose people around you the older you get. I’m 45 and it’s become one of the most important things to me is spending time with people I love. For instance my last grandfather died in August. This was the first thanksgiving that he wasn’t there. He had a real distinct voice that has always been soothing to me since I was a kid. And I really missed that voice on thanksgiving day as we all sat and talked and laughed with that bears game on in the background. My grandmother was there. She’s in her 90’s now. She’s my last living grandparent and every chance I get to spend time with her I do. I soaked up her presence yesterday!

Don't be too nervous about your procedure in January. My husband had that done back when he was with his ex-wife. It's an outpatient procedure. It just requires ice packs for a couple days. I applaud you for you going through that and not making Jenn go through a more invasive procedure. Bless you.❤

Hey Jacob! Thanks for showing us your Thanksgiving with members of your family! I remember there was a time when you you very very hesitant to show family members - and some just outright asking not to be filmed. Of course, that is everyone's right to choose to be included or not and I'm not saying that "everyone" should be in your videos at every gathering. However, it's really nice to see the people in your life sometimes! As for those close friends who have passed on this past year - my sincere condolences -hopefully, you can cherish their memories, while you also grieve their passing. I got a vasectomy done in May. I can tell you, it was 100x worse in my mind than the actual procedure. Took about 20 min total, the key is to take it easy the first 3 days. Ice every 30 min, wear supportive underwear for three weeks. Good luck!

Be careful driving home. Snowflakes and crazy people make a difficult driving combination. It's tough to add empty space to a busy life but it is so wonderful once you do. I support you giving yourself days for you, but I always watch when you drop a new video.

I also have a teenager, and understand how difficult it is when you don't get to celebrate together. Right now my daughter goes to her father for holidays every other year, even though she doesn't particularly want to. We are both looking forward to when she's a couple of years older and she can choose for herself without him stepping in, and I likely won't have a holiday without my child again until she starts her own family. Hope your break was relaxing regardless, despite the long drives.

A good stop in Los Angeles would be the Museum of Jurassic Technology. I'm not sure they'd let you shoot video in there but possibly if you fill them in on your subscriber numbers and that it would advertise them. Who knows. Even if you couldn't shoot video in there you'd still probably enjoy it, if you haven't already been there multiple times. You need to schedule the visit in advance though. You can 't just show up and walk in there.

All kidding aside, I wouldn't miss it for the world. Your Mom is adorable, your brother cackling manically with the carving knife was a hoot, and you and Jen with the wishbone was pure magic. I am fifty seven now, and I have been wrestling with everything you were talking about.
