What sickened the most in those two episodes is how it's revealed that Marinette classmates basically have less esteem for her than they have for Lila. I say that because none of them openly disagreed with Lila everytime she was saying things about Marinette that were clearly false for people who know Marinette well. Accusing Marinette of neglecting her duties as class representative and not caring about everyone in her class when Marinette proved numerous times that she was in fact a great class representative and always cared about everyone (even Chloé during season 2 and 3). And worst of all, accusing Marinette or being resentful and cruel enough to potentially ruin her classmates their educational orientation for replacing her with Lila for the class representative position. When did Marinette ever gave them the impression that she was able to do such a thing ? Lila always interracted less with her classmates and barely did anything for them, yet her word have more value in their eyes than those of Marinette ? Sure Marinette mostly gave them the impression that she disliked Lila out of jealousy, but Marinette's behavior in Revelation should makes this argument totally invalid since even though all of Paris thinks that Adrien and Kagami are a couple, Marinette doesn't care as long as Adrien, her and Kagami know the truth. And you know what dissapointed even more in confrontation, the fact that Marinette could foil Lila's plans not because her relationship with her friends proved to be stronger than any of Lila's lies, but because one of Marinette's former bully finally became able to tell good apart from bad and grew up a spine. Lila was litarrally saying "WE all understand that it's Marinette's fault", and the only one who reacted was Sabrina, all the rest remained silent in front of such outrageous accusations against somoene they're supposed to love and appreciate, even Alya. Even Adrien did nothing to help Marinette when Lila was literally calling her a civilian Monarch when he was in position to do so. He was the only one who gave his orientation sheet directly to Lila and Chloé, and they still falsified his file too, so he so he could have perfectly contradicted Lila's arguments against Mariette of having directly given them fake files. I know that Lila could also have found a lie to fight against Adrien's potential arguments, mostly she could have accused him of being Marinette's accomplice, but after episodes like Protection and Derision when it was a joy to see Adrien in protective boyfriend mode, I was rather dissapointed that once again he remained silent this time too. Marinette doesn't have a good enough support system in my opinion.
@giannaangulo7006 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m really disappointed in Marinette’s whole class. They were all stupid and foolish enough to believe someone they’ve known for barley a year over someone they’ve known practically their whole lives and have done so much for all of them. I do like how Adrien convinces Lila to come up with another lie to prove Marinette’s innocence but I do wish he’d defend her more every time she’s being framed for something. I wish in a future episode, Marinette calls out her friends and even her parents for all of their crappy behavior and stops talking to them for a few episodes.
@viktoriabardio4753 Жыл бұрын
That's why I don't think the class is so much a hero, because a hero stands up for those who are unfairly accused and doesn't just watch someone being treated unfairly, but also does something. I hope that in the next arc, Adrien will have the courage to stand up for Marinette and not only watch as a spectator, but be a companion on whom he can lean, so that he does not always have to fight alone. Adrien knows only one person who would come up with such a complicated plan and Ladybug, if he paid more attention, he might realize that Marinette is Ladybug.
@sparxstreak02 Жыл бұрын
That’s the thing, Marinette’s class was gullible for the sake of plot rather than it making sense as to why they would believe Lila over Marinette. I know they want us to believe Lila has a silver tongue that can fool anyone but you also have to set up a scenario to back up your claims in a way that makes your lies more plausible - you can’t just SAY it for people to believe you over someone they know better.

This is totally true. But about Adrien not acting up: I thinks that is totally on writers. They probably wanted Marinette (and Sabrina) to shine. And if Adrien intervened it would also have taken more time. I think they had not much time left. A lot happens in season 5. i believe that sabrina's redemption ark was partially caused by her use of the dog miraculous. miraculous' use mostly changes their users for the better, and thus sabrina becomes more clear about what she stands up for, as we can see in the duration of season 5. of course, she might also be driven by jealousy and fear of her replacement by lila, as you mentioned in the video, but i think she wouldn't have been able to stand up for herself and her values hadn't she used the dog miraculous

Me and my friend came to a conclusion that Sabrina's reason for being Chloe's lapdog is because she's desperate to look pretty and Chloe can buy her nice things (ex. a beret, broach, etc.) which honestly just makes it worse, cause Sabrina is not only siding with a villain just to get materialistic stuff, but honestly enjoying the suffering she causes, sometimes without even Chloe pushing her into it (seriously, she smirked when Marinette was falling into the pool!)

For me, it's still upsetting that it took this convoluted plan to get "Lila" to admit she's a liar and all that because while I understand that Marinette doesn't have evidence to prove that "Lila" is a liar and with the way Marinette acts which "Lila" takes advantage of, they don't have proof that "Lila" is telling the truth and with Alya wanting to be the reporter and only wanting the fact she did not do an excellent job at that. I will give "Lila" credit for creating a persona who's an angel of mortals, but a lot of her stuff contradicts itself and can be quickly researched. Then again, it is a character flaw for her to overcome. I do agree with you about Sabrina; she's also not my favorite character in the show and how she was written, but at the same time, I've actually met someone like Sabrina, where they do everything to be popular, get attention, anything to hold onto whatever toxic friendship or relationship they have only to change because what they had was taken away it was a rollercoaster with them. Though Sabrina might change more in season 6, only time will tell. What I love about these episodes is how honest Marinette is about the situations with "Lila" and Chloe because out of everyone in the show, both Adrien and Marinette have given Chloe multiple second chances that she didn't want both as civilians and superheroes. I mean, in the episode Revelation, Chloe agreed with everything Marinette said in her speech. Because both of them are done and won't be bigger people or the image of good anymore, seeing how it didn't help them in the end. So for Marinette to pull a stunt the way she did proves how amazing she is and why she's a hero in the first place.

I won’t lie, I do like how Lila is becoming more threatening and competent by exploiting and manipulating everyone by using their weaknesses against them, like Marinette’s emotional impulses. It’s honestly my favorite traits of her as a villain. Though I won’t lie, her having multiple identities and such is a little extreme in my opinion. It makes her a dangerous villain, sure, but it makes her motive even further to figure out. I will admit though, I felt a bit off with the whole Lila exposure that happened. There are a few reasons why that might be for me. One is I’ve read so many Lila exposure fics for the last few years I put too high of an expectation on the exposure. The second thing, though, is that Adrien didn’t have as much of an active role in Lila’s downfall. Sure, he supported Marinette, offered and learned from his own lesson, and he pushed Lila to leave Marinette alone, which force her to change strategies. But he still didn’t play an active role in the takedown. Lila’s feelings for Adrien is part of what triggered Marinette to follow them and lead to the confrontation that sets off their rivalry. Lila teamed up with Gabriel Agreste in order to spy on Adrien and break away his friends. Adrien even offered a deal with Lila to leave Marinette alone in exchange of being friends. And we’ve seen in the season 4 finale, Lila is still trying to win Adrien over. Basically, Adrien is just as much of an enemy against Lila as is to Marinette, but once again, the writers decided to push him into the backburner instead of actively participating in the rivalry. The third and final problem I have with the exposure is actually Sabrina. Like you stated (and I’m happy you share the same sentiment), Sabrina’s “redemption” arc was not good. She did not have a realization that she was awful and should become a better person. The narrative actually tries to frame her that she is more a victim forced to be bad because of Chloé’s influence, except there have been previous episodes that proved otherwise. Heck, Perfection’s scene with Chloé, Sabrina, and Lila makes it look more like Sabrina isn’t a fan of Lila taking her place as Chloé‘s best friend than the fact that the two are conspiring against Adrienette. She had no problem when it came to Marinette and Kim. What changed? They don’t show that change. They just tell us Sabrina is good now, without showing the changes. Like you said, Sabrina has a lot of potential to be a great character. If we aren’t going to get a redemption arc from Chloé, then I think Sabrina should have been the next best option. Like Chloé, she is a school bully who is willing to help Chloé willingly with her bullying, and can not only learn how unhealthy her friendship with Chloé is, but also how her being a participant of Chloé’s bullying made her a terrible person and take the right step to become a better person. Heck, it could have helped to support Adrien’s words about how people can change, because there can be nuance to Adrien’s belief. While not everyone would want to change, there can be those who can. It’s a good message that should be input into the show, while still having the “not everyone can change” lesson. But overall, the analysis of the Lila takedown was quite insightful. I did felt a bit off-put when Marinette decided to do the same thing Lila does in order to defeat, but in hindsight, it makes sense. The teachers are gullible and willing to turn the other side with conflicts like this, and Chloé and her father doesn’t help the matter further. Her classmates don’t believe Marinette because of Lila’s manipulation and Marinette’s lack of evidence. And with her friends’ future on the line, Marinette pretty much had no choice. I guess I just wish the show had shown Marinette tried other ways to show everyone she is right about Lila besides just telling them without evidence (and not have Alya tell her she have to at this point).

I absolutely agree that these two episodes were epic and I think they're my favorite episodes so far!!! The way Marinette finally got a confession out of Lila and everyone understood how Marinette was right all along was incredible!! I actually never understood how Alya didn't believe Marinette... she's her best friend AND she knows Marinette is Ladybug (in earlier seasons there was this episode where Marinette found out what a liar Lila is by being Ladybug and literally witnessing her lies, back then Marinette couldn't tell Alya why she knew Lila lied, cuz Alya didn't know about Marinette being Ladybug yet, but now that she knows, there's even more reason for Alya to side with her BEST FRIEND Marinette, but she still believes Lila over her... until now ofc). I think Marinette deserves a HUGE apology from Alya, cuz her not believing Marinette was pretty bad in my opinion. Marinette didn't always have valid proof about Lilas lies, but there were also the times she was speaking straight up facts and Alya just didn't believe her, which is horrible considering they're best friends. But yeah, that's my thoughts on that. Overall I really liked those two episodes, but I also wonder how are they gonna wrap this season up, cuz they don't have many episodes left and it isn't looking so revealish (it's def a word trust me). I'm just scared of the ending and the wrap up being too fast or that it just feels forced and squished at the end there. I absolutely loved this video as always!!! This video is just one more example of why I enjoy your channel so much. I can always count on you to have a different (and almost always more correct) take on things than any other source. I agree strongly about your comments about Sabrina. She isn't a very nice person. She doesn't deserve to be 'redeemed' so easily. I like the ambiguity of her motivations, though. Would she have done what she did if she didn't feel abandoned by Chloe? Probably not. Lila and Chloe took her for granted and she punished them for it. In this sense, I think this is quite realistic. Often the biggest whistle blowers are in just as deep as the people they are informing on. Think of mob informants or 'deep throat' for the Watergate scandal. I like that aspect of this show. Sabrina's frustration with Chloe has been building up for a while. What I don't like is that the show seems to think that she has been redeemed now. I could complain for a long time about how the writers treated Sabrina worse than Chloe, but I have rambled long enough. Thanks for another great video.

In the end the whole class demanded he should get a 0 because it was unfair how many chances he got and still did nothing (and also did not give a good reason (like problems at home) for not delivering the asignment). It's not right to pick on anyone even when they are down on their luck😢 Sometime payback is always a b😮 because what goes around comes around even when you do things right. Don't fall for it!

2:25 I see no wrong Boustier trying to better Chloe with her homework and yet Marinette is acting like a brat, same as always! Chloe being held back and having to deal with her own homework is punishment

Shocking for this ignorant fellow was the school performance reviews that French teenagers have to suffer through to go on to the next level. Marinette took a huge risk with her schoolmates' futures! What if Mr. Damocles couldn't actually get them fixed before being fired!? Now for the villain formerly known as Lila. She's devious, devoid of any morals, has great chameleon skills, and is likely a psychopathic killer. I'm guessing she gets herself adopted by all those 'mothers' we see and then kills them so she can inherit their wealth... all using different identities. How else would she have the resources we are now seeing like an office hideout? I know a lot of the fandom complain that she was being wasted, but I think she was added by the writing team after season six was approved and they were just waiting till now to set her up as the next villain. Seasons going forward without Thomas Astruc as a writer might be a little more dark in nature, because what does she want other than to ruin the lives of those around her? Money, fame, power? Maybe she created the Lila personality just to get close to the Agreste family after Adrien showed up at a school; why else would she have targeted Collège Françoise Dupont? In a lot of ways she is going to be far more dangerous than the rich Tailor if she can get her hands on any of the jewels/rings; she is just more naturally evil.
