Jackson, I've had a kitten for 3 months now... love her to death, but she plays extremely aggressive. It's not health problems, fear, etc... she's just WILD. Everyone in the household shuts their bedroom door when sleeping now, including me. She scratched me in the face when sleeping, and almost caught my eye a few times. I've tried everything to no avail. Would love your help.

My old little lady is 21 ❤️ At 18 she chose to leave her owner bc he didn't care much for her, so she chose to keep me company on my porch when I felt alone and I gave her all the love she deserved for that. She is now deaf, have bad teeth, battled kidney failure (n got much better) and have weak hind legs. She still eats, goes out for walks with me, insists to jump (even tho she got her own stairs) and is still pretty alert. She's a true fighter with a beautiful old soul 💛 ❤️ I love her so much ❤️

We lost our beautiful baby Clover 🍀 a few months ago. She was 22 minimum. When I adopted her they guessed that she was a year old, but who knows? Sweetest potato ever! AND she sent us Jasper, a young adult Russian Blue who desperately needed love and care and a good home. He's a complete joy and such a funny little boy. Completely different from Clover-she would have loved him ❤ My bf and I keep calling him Clover but we're working on it... 😊🐈‍⬛❣️🐾❤️

I'm pretty sure Bibi is thinking something along the lines of "The things I do for treats!" Just look at her face, lol. As for Cream Puff, the world's oldest cat, I think I remember her age is truly verified, owing to the fact that she is a pedigree kittie with a proper bloodline and a fancy birth certificate. Whatever it is, and whether it is a year more or a year less ... 38 years is absolutely mind-blowing. If only they all could live this long, and doggies, too ... losing a pet is horrible.

A cat my sister had when we were kids deserved a record for humans saved. His name was Smarty because he was the first one in his litter to do everything. Anyway, we were all in bed one night when Smarty jumped on my dad and howled and dug his nails in until my dad woke up. When my dad turned a light on he saw that the house was filled with smoke. Upon investigation my dad found the basement engulfed in flames. He then woke everyone up and we all got out. If Smarty hadn't woken my dad up all 5 of us would be dead, so Smarty saved the whole family that night. That has to be a record

It's a fairly common practice by cats to leave prey somewhere for their owner, like at the doorstep or something. When my cat used to live outside she'd eat most of what she caught, but if she would leave the head or tail of some animals at the side door... I've always have to scoop them up and toss them in the woods on the way to work in the AM. Wonderful start to the day. But now she's an indoor cat since we moved to an area with lots of predators.

Our vet (cats only) had a patient that made it to 34. We had 2 20 year olds. Our Magical is almost 15 and still hunts and owns his own gallery in Port Orchard, WA.

Life expectancy of pets, just like that of humans, is increasing pretty significantly, owing to the rapid progress in medical science. Who knows, maybe in 50 years from now, the average life span of a doggie or a kittie will be 40 years.

VIDEO TOPIC: My two cats are 11 (Gary) and 8 (Bentley). My son is 17, and it took me years and years to get him to stop teasing the cats. He’s old enough now that I’ve worked with him on the idea of consent. And he finally gets it. But just an idea on a video-maybe one directed towards kids on why not to tease their kitties. Anyway, I love your work.

It all depends on what you mean by teasing and the personality of the cat. My cats always love the way I tease them and it is actually a bonding activity. I am always gentle and always give love immediately after. My current cat knows when I'm being annoying that it's not meant to harm and has never lashed out. I know when I go to far because she lets me know and I let her know when she's going to far.

I can't believe Larry Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office of the UK Government didn't make this list for the most senior parliamentary cat in the world! We have had a Chief Meowser in parliament here in the UK since the 16th century, and Larry is doing a wonderful job training the police stationed by the front door of No10 to open and close the door at his will 😅 Pish-posh! Hi Jackson Galaxy, I wanted to tell you about my cat Norman! He is the sweetest and loves to play. Also all the tips about catifacation helped me make my house purrfect for him to live and thrive! He can look out the window on his cat tree and jump from countertop to countertop. I love all the content you make and Norman would not be as happy and healthy without it! Thanks!

I had a Norman too. He was a very sickly kitten and the vet said that he probably wouldn't live more than a year. Anyway we had our Norman for over 18 years. I wish you every happiness with yours. 💕

Blue the cat (he was a "parking lot freebie" shorthair white cat with a black inkwell patch on his rump with one blue eye/one green eye) crossed the Bridge last year at 25 years old. His real sister, Seven (at that time she was 7 of 9 cats--yes, like Star Trek lol) is still going strong. So we might be able to give that oldest cat record a run for its money!

Jackson, great fun stuff! I had a tiny kitten from our shelter, (mom died, kits were just over a week, eyes just started to open when Animal control brought them in. Her two bothers were normal size. All polys, boys the normal. Bottle babies, boys adopted at 8 weeks but 'Yeti' , long hair, tuxedo, I kept. She had, literally, double feet on front, so 8 front, though no bones in 1 'thumb', just 2 claws, each foot. 7 each back foot, though again, 1 each, unattached. I had to check often to make sure they shed, no problems in her 16 years. Her tail had a 'crook' you could feel, hidden by long hair. We finally stopped the breeder causing these, selling them as WallaWalla Wiggles! In the 90s, in WallaWalla, WA. It wasn't a healthy operation. Cats were saved, woman, not! Charged with abuse, yay. 👍💖💙🥰✌

I so enjoyed this Jackson. You precious girl lived for 25 years. I am hoping so much that my Girl, Ms Lily, now 18 will be around so I can love, cuddle and adore her as long as possible. I adore Senior Cats, I only adopt Senior Cats. 🐈🏡💗😂😂🇦🇺

We had a smallish angora female that must have flown 50 feel after my uncle hit the sides of a hollow limb when she refused to let him out of the limb. She flattened out as she came out and scared all the way to the other side of the yard. Truly amazing how God designed cats.

i inherited a 17 year old cat. she is about to hit 20. I'm kind of allergic to her, and i thought she wasn't going to last long because she had horrible health when i got her, so i didn't try to rehome her and just let her live the rest of her life where she is most comfy. but.. jeez... this cat is the picture of healthy for her age and isn't fixing to die any time soon. rip my allergy.. at least the cats super happy and independent enough that she doesn't need constant attention. i think if i had kept her on kibble she would of died years ago. i moved her to raw meat and she stopped having seizures, put on healthy weight, and only has eczema on 5% of her body instead of 90%. she greets me every morning and gets her loving right before i shower. so it works out for the both of us and i only feel mild stuff since me and her worked this deal out.

I am allergic to dust and can recommend 1) shower before bed and change your pillowcase to reduce the amount of allergens you sleep with; 2) use saline spray regularly to wash out your sinuses; and 3) if you get congested, Azelastine tastes nasty but works very well. Cats are so worth the sneeze.

@@linpittsburgh2375 i keep her out of my room but i leave the door cracked slightly, so if i forget to feed her, she will push my door open and let me know by screaming at me and pawing my leg. so from the door to under my desk is the only contamination in my bedroom. the petting and loving station is my bathroom where i keep her water bowl and she gets love while i am doing my business first thing in the morning. the rest of the day she finds new places to relax all over the house, and follows me around when i leave my room. i should probably clean my house better honestly.

I had a cat who lived to be 23. She had been abandoned on the side of a rural highway. I was walking, and she was sitting on a boulder by the road, crying her little kitten lungs out. She was a sweet and gentle soul. If I hadn't happened by, I doubt she would have live for more than another day or two.

I had a ginger tabby named 'Momma CB' I have no clue were my wife came up with that name! But that thing was an outdoor barn cat and was very 'set' in her ways. Dr. Hafez was the vet that fixed her. He said, ' If had not fixed her, I would not have believed it myself.' Momma CB lived 28 years and died on our upper deck porch. 28 YEARS. Her sister a spotted black calico 'Momma Petty' lived 25 years and died from a mouth infection, I just did not get her to the Vet in time. Not that it would have made much difference I don't think. Still we loved those 2 creatures. I think Dr. Hafez has since passed, but this is a true story.

That's absolutely amazing!! 🤯 It's awesome to see how better medical care, better quality food, better pet behaviour science, indoor living etc is extending pet lifespans, and meaning they can retain quality of life for longer? Hopefully it means less heartbreak for their humans too, not having to say so many goodbyes over the years...

I can relate! Severe allergies mean no real-life pet love for me, but I hugely appreciate being able to enjoy cat & dog content via KZbin... Oof, definitely wouldn't seriously recommend bringing home a pet without getting parental buy-in, though! In terms of responsibility it's rather like having a kid, so you definitely want to make sure everyone in the household is onboard...? Esp. as if you're ever ill or away on holiday, you won't be the one who'll be there to look after them.

My mom had a cat that was discovered with two sets of feet on his front legs. One set had to go because the vet said they could abscess, so he always walked a little off kilter. He had a very loud meow that we later found out was indicitive of being a Siamese, which he didn't look like at all. His meow was so loud that at one point someone called the cops on my grandma because they thought she was mistreating a baby! Singer lived to be 22

Absolutely! I worry about my fave KZbinrs sometimes? The YT algorithms tend to push so hard towards such a hectic production schedule & will actually penalize creators for taking their time &/or protecting their mental health, so it's a relief to see quality creators still thriving and enjoying what they do despite that constant pressure. I love the fact that there are alternate creator-run video platforms springing up now (eg Nebula) which DON'T exploit or abuse creators, and which are also entirely free of the ever-burgeoning YT ad plague! Hope that trend continues, both for the sake of the creators and for a better viewer experience?

#3 - Is absurdly silly. . .I think I have a cat that would never come out of it #2 - is impressive in how FAST and responsible her cat is. My boys are pretty good with the tricks they know IF a treat is presented to them. . .still working on immediate response to a vocal cue other than sit. . .they sit very good now. Many years ago I adopted a lovely, quite small (6#), calico tuxedoed cat from a shelter. Her former people had moved - leaving her locked in their apartment, all alone. Fortunately for her, yowls alerted neighbors who called for help, and I was lucky enough to get her! Agatha Panther set no records that we know of, and I don't believe she _EVER_ killed a mouse, but she *_DID_** ERADICATE **_EVERY_** RAT SHE EVER SAW, from TWO COMPLETE - & DIFFERENT - NEIGHBORHOODS!* In the neighborhood where we lived when we adopted her, some people had a huge cottonwood tree that was _TOTALLY_ covered with ivy, and that ivy was *_FULL OF RATS._* Aggie apparently HATED rats. At first she brought me a dead rat EVERY DAY, then I think maybe she decided I should start doing my own hunting, so she only brought me a HALF A RAT EACH DAY! Eventually, there _WERE_ *NO MORE RATS.* After a few years, we moved across town to a different neighborhood. The former owners of this house were apparently utter slobs, as there was a HUGE AMOUNT of GARBAGE there, which had been dumped over the back fence into an "unimproved greenspace." There wasn't just garbage, of course, *there were also RATS - LOTS & **_LOTS_** OF RATS!* Agatha Panther (aka Agha Khan) once again went to work killing rats. Once more, there was ONE WHOLE RAT every day for a while, then she "cut me back" to half a rat each day, and finally all the rats were gone. [I cleaned up the non-rat (and non-food) garbage that was left, so finally the greenspace SHOWED _SOME_ "IMPROVEMENT"! Agatha Panther was truly unique. I was farm-raised and to be honest I never saw one of our cats catch a rat. Lots of mice-0 rats among probably 20 or 30 cats.

😢 Sorry to hear of their loss! I really appreciated the tip Jackson shared re. acclimating pets to their carriers and making sure they're trained so that's their "safe space" to go to when anything unusual happens? Quite apart from much greater ease with pet visits, I'm sure I'm not the only one who hadn't previously thought about the awful difficulty of extracting pets during a house disaster. 100% sure that one tip will save families some heartbreak along the way if they can implement it!

I can believe that. My cat; Rajan passed away at the age of 27 years, 10 months old. I got him from a litter of kittens, so he was 2 months old, when I took him home with me back in March of 1995 (I was 20 years old, at the time. He passed away back in November 17, 2022. I miss him so much.

My almost 18 year old cat has been going downhill quickly for 3 weeks. I have a home visit vet coming for her on Wednesday for a sick call but... I think I know where this is going. Before this started I had this day when she just was on my lap making muffins and cuddling for hours. Literally it was the next day the decline started. She knew. NEVER mss that "Last good day" with your best friend. I am thankful I reciprocated her cuddles on that day because... I think it was her saying goodbye with a big cuddle explosion before things went down. Act like every day might be your last with your friend - it may be.

As soon as I saw the title I thought of Towser the mouser! She was a legend in her own lifetime. My parents saw her on a visit to the distillery,sunning herself on her bed in a window of the visitor centre. They came back with a bottle of whisky and a Towser tea towel.

I have trained my cats too. High fives, kisses, knuckles, shakes and giving of the paw for Innaba Churu. I am now training them for American sign language, all done and more. Additional training when they've got those two down pat. Training is fun for all three of us.

One of my cats has lasted for me for only 15 1/2 years after being stray and I estimate her age 16-17 but tomorrow is her last day due to fatal disease. That is my record because my cats have often passed at no later than 12-13. In majority of cases from cancer. Several strays lived really old but of indeterminate age due to being stray adults. My mom thinks it is from suspicious cat food ingredients. Maybe so.

I wanted to jump in as a fan of Catmantoo’s channel to say that while Boomer has the world record for the weird human tunnel skateboard thing, I believe his rescue cat Didga was the previous record holder for most tricks done by a cat in a minute (she actually broke her own record). It's thought that the 9,000 year old cat was domesticated elsewhere (probably the middle east) and brought to the island of Cyprus by the first humans to settle here at the same time, around 9 to 10 thousand years ago. My daughter found a cold starving kitten under a trash can in 1996. She went to sleep in her favorite box in Nov 2021 and never woke up. She had kittens, had a full rich home life. She left in peace. My daughter has some of her fur in a polymer tear drop on a necklace.

Jackson, I want to say that I enjoy your videos and what you do with cats. I've been a cat person all my life and that's 69 years. I have a sweet cat named Dusty that keeps me company and is my family. I've even registered her to be an emotional support animal, because I love her so much. She's funny, and shows a lot of affection with me. Occasionally, she plays rough, and I get either scratched or bitten. I usually deserve it when it happens, and I know it. There are times when I can feel her staring at me, and I always say something to her. I've watched numerous videos about cats, and I know it's because she loves me that she does it. She has her own special ways of getting my attention, and I give it to her freely. She is a rescue from a Humane Society, and quite frankly, she picked me by rubbing on the glass of her kennel when I approached her and put my hand down by her. It was love at first sight. I had a great cat that liked to get into the one cabinet to "Guard" his cans of food ...but one day he kept trying to get under the kitchen sink , he was being a pest ...so I opened it up to see what he wanted ...and there was a leak that had started , i was able to fix it before any damage ...but he also use to take the whole roll of TP and put it in the toilet for me ...very helpful ...UGH !!!

Had a cat that my family took in when I was a kid who I am pretty sure made it into her 30s. No one in the area was able to figure out her age, and the vet we first took her to even called her “grandma”. She lived with my family for over 20 years
