I live in Thailand, and am waiting for the Seagull to arrive. At present we have the Netta V which is selling well, but I think I would prefer a BYD.

This is a sodium powered vehicle. No thermal runaway. Not affected by temperature.

it is an early stage for the sodium ion battery. (there is no statistic of reliability in long term at least for 8-10 years). some youtubers tested the sodium baterry for their solar panel system so we need to see the performance at least 5 years if it is relaible. and they are not cheap either, because the production scale is not enough to beat the lfp battery in term of quantities.

Here in Uruguay there are Seagulls almost since a year, they are better in person, seem like cars from future when seeing in the night from rear !. Nammi is being offered right now, is more conventional aesthetic but is a bigger car (I always check distance between axles)

I have asked the Danish importer of BYD and they say that the BYD Seagull will come to Denmark in 2025 and if it comes at a price below 20,000 euros, then it will be a blockbuster

Foe Western Proportions I think the Nammi would do well. Load either car up with 4 people though & I wonder how they would cope at highway speeds or climbing some roads. The Nammi does look that little bit better finished than the Seagull. I wonder how hard it is to import either version as an individual with all the import restrictions & Safety requirements of each country? I don't think it is very easy.

In Europe, the Nammi 01 will be labeled as BOX, it's better than the seagull in every way and will arrive earlier, reportedly this summer. In terms of price/performance, Nammi is much better and a clear choice.

It seems about 30% of the world drives on the left of the road. Shouldn't they make the Evs adaptable ??? Like unclip the wheel and move it to the other side and unplug the pedals and plug them into a harness on the other side. Voila ....you have a Ev for the left and right side of the road. Evs seem very experimental at present. Nothing here in Australia really that average people would buy or have enough money to buy. Maybe we need to look again in 5-10 years when it may be all sorted out. I still think Evs will do it in the end. It was a good report..Thx

BYD has just built a factory in Thailand for RHD EVs for SE Asia. Pretty much all of Asia is RHD. In fact puzzelling why China is LHD. Anti British/Japanese/Indian sentiment? Anyway Britian and Europe is the only place where your idea make sense.

BYD Seagull looks better to me, the Nammi also looks good. Prefer the door handles of the Nammi as they are more modern. I don't know enough about the Nammi if I would buy it, on paper it slightly edges out the Seagull by a smidgeon.

42.5kWh battery, 75kW motor 140km/h, claim 400ks but probably 300 in real world. Auto parking etc. If I could get RHD I'd buy one. Maybe imported as a Dacia (Dongfeng build the Spring) but I think Renault will stop that as dimensions are very 5 like

We tested the BYD, but the cheapest BYD Dolphin (Active was not on sale) started around €34k. We bought the Dongfeng Nammi Box . . . . . . hands down the winner in all categories. So, that Seagull will never be a match for the Nammi. The finnish, build quality, the standard equipement/features, of that Nammi BOX punches far over its class. In the Netherlands for €23.500 (42kWh battery) and that Dolphin is €30.000. When the Seagull is even below the specs of the Dolphin . . . . i fear no one will buy it for a price that is over €18k. @@georgew1015 That's not the issue - it's what happens when they do catch fire that is. ICE fires can be put out pretty easily. EV fires on the other hand can not and they also give of lots of toxic fumes in the process.

Not bloody likely with the Canadian government following its US master and adopting an anti-China stance. Besides it's too cold.. LFP won't work well here. Maybe when the sodium battery models come out that'd be an option.
