@WoodyNWUK2 жыл бұрын
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I absolutely love how Elizabeth brings an almost childlike wonder to a lot of these reactions. And the fact she really seems to get into these songs whatever the genre. I only found Beast in Black relatively recently and I was hooked from the first song. Which was, unsurprisingly, Blind and Frozen. Although the first time I heard it I was convinced Brittney Slays from Unleash the Archers was on vocals 🙄
@yviemitchell48962 жыл бұрын
Love your expression when Yannis went to head voice on the second chorus (I did the exact same thing, lol)! I've sung in numerous choral groups and have spent 30 years trying to train my voice to smoothly switch between head and falsetto... I'm not half as smooth as he is. What an amazing instrument!

@violetstarsign2 жыл бұрын
Some people are such utter masters of their craft that no matter how outlandish a feat they accomplish, it almost feels like there's no sense of awe or wonder at their deeds. Yannis Papadopoulos is like that. Listening to him nail every single note, I experience the simultaneous thoughts of "holy crap, he actually just did that" and "well, of *course* he just did that, he's Yannis, he is the GOAT" and there is no cognitive dissonance in my mind whatsoever. It's like watching Superman turn the world backwards--thinking about it being done in the abstract is mind-boggling, but when you see Superman do it, you're just like "well, of course he can do that, he's Superman."

I like that you can hear the orchestration better in the studio version of the songs. Not many people comment much on the arrangement and stuff but honestly that's the biggest reason i love Nightwish. Composition-wise their music is always so interesting with little details like the Sitar before the vocals come in. There's a lot of stuff you don't really hear in the live versions.

Holy mother.. Listened to so many GLS reactions and then this one comes up! Allowing me to not simply listen but really experience the initial thrill of GLS all over again?!! And then the experience gets amplified by seeing Ms Charismatic being overwhelmed by Yannis' mastery. Wow, this is a very special morning coffee treat, for which I'm very, very grateful. So thank you Tuomas, thank you Elizabeth and thank YOU Yannis! That's some massive vocal bravery you got to choose the same key. A good vocalist would have achieved a very decent cover which would however have constantly reminded me of Floor's stellar Wacken delivery. But you pulled the Floor grab, took the song and made it your own. And with that, you gifted me as a listener a fresh experience of Tuomas' masterpiece. So ty again & cheers from Amsterdam

Would love to see you react to Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust (their most well known song and the music video got voted as the best Finnish music video ever back in 2006 when the song was released). Truly an underrated band from here in Finland. Also a band with many different sounds all the way from slow melodic songs to full on rock. Although if you want to immediately hear a song that showcases how crazy good the lead singer Marko Saaresto's voice can be (and while his vocal range might not be the most dynamic out there he is an amazing example of what you can achieve by having absolutely perfect control of your vocals especially the raw emotion that his voice is able to convey) then i recommend listening to their song Daze. His vocals on the chorus are something out of this world. I just think that so many more people would love their music if they just ever heard them but since their from Finland it rarely happens. Although many have heard their songs in Remedy's video games Max Payne 2, Alan Wake, Quantum Brake and Control (Also every single reactor i have seen reacting to them has been pretty much blown away by their music so i'm very confident you'll like it) also... also... lot's of deep and meaningful lyrics and wordplay in their songs sorry for the long rant i just really want more people to know about them :D

Love Yannis's voice. The warmth, the grit, the layering. So many notes that have a nice clear high sound that end with a warm deepened rrrrgh... Crunchy as I think you put it. Moar!!

This is going to be a wild ride! Speaking of the Beast, old band of Beast In Black's founder, Anton Kabanen, Battle Beast, is also still doing great, they have a new album coming up later this month and all three released singles are really solid. Vocalist Noora Louhimo is one of the uniquest power metal singers there is, really worth to check out!

I just watched a recording of Battle Beast live at Wacken 2019, Noora is also amazingly good live, same goes for the whole band really!

Also, Eye Of the Storm is a certified BANGER. Noora really shows how incredible she is on that one. Would love to see Elizabeth giving it a listen!

Completely agree, I'm super hyped for the new Battle Beast album. The first three singles have been excellent start to finish, so it's sounding really promising for the album. A new Beast in Black and a new Battle Beast album two months apart - we're spoiled!

I have two recomendations. Lost Horizon - Highlander (The One): this song is the holy grail of power metal vocally speaking, also is if not the most surely is in top 5 of the Greatest Epic Metal songs. Daniel Heinman has an incredible vocal range. The other recomendation is from Ex Libris - The Exile this band is more Progessive Metal, the singer is Dianne van Giersbergen who is an opera singer, her voice always give me goose bumps specially in this song the way she gives emotion to the lyrics is very dramatic and unique. Another great but very underrated singer.

He might not be Floor but for a man to do the things he does with his voice are just insane. The voice gets almost brutal at times but the entire thing is also fricking beautiful, I'll have to call it "brutiful".

Omg omg omg I’m immensely thankful to you all wonderful people making these reaction videos. I’ve learnt so much. Often times I already new some of the things you were about to say. I’ve watched so many Ghost love score reaction videos and have heard so many experts’ opinions that I did grasp some technical knowledge. Thank you so so so much for sharing all of that so selflessly. It’s really inspiring, I even want to learn singing (I’ve always been torn between: no way you sing well, you just think too good of yourself and, c’mon, be confident. You’re actually well tunned).

Great cover and reaction. After 500 times watching Floor and Tarja perform this song, seeing a dude with a beard doing it well is a little unsettling. But I guess it is a new world.

How in the world have I missed this up until now?! I really have been living under a rock. I love your reaction, as always, and your analysis too. My face mirrored yours the entire time, by the way, sheer joy and amazement. 😍😍😍 ευχαριστώ Yannis! ❤️

Well, this is a surprise! I'm not sure why, I mean, Mrs. Zharoff is only listening to the 7,547, 691.3 people who mentioned this cover in the chat and comments for the "Blind and Frozen" reaction. It's an impressive cover of a song that a) Is as challenging for a dude to sing as pronouncing Yannis' last name and b) May have been Elizabeth's gateway drug into metal. Should be fascinating! I hope E checks out some newer Beast in Black at some point as songs like Midnight Rendezvous and One Night in Tokyo will make her want to dance and headbang simultaneously.

Stunned. Utterly and absolutely. I love your channel - but have to admit morbid fascination brought me to this one. Now I'm left SHOCKED. This guy made it his own and yet at the same time managed to pay glorious homage to Floor's rendition!!! Holy. Crap.
