This song along with overs proves the haters wrong who say he’s all talent but can’t emit emotion. That’s all they say. The funny part is emotional connection is entirely subjective. Some are moved by Tupac or Taylor swift. Not everyone is moved by the same thing. If only they took the time to learn the languages and lyrics/back stories. Dimash for me sings some of the most emotional songs with his tone and dynamics. He’s the best singer in the world easily.

I can't comprehend that one bit, Dimash is ALL emotion in his performances -- are these people truly clueless. I was watching Dimash's performance on World's Best and Faith Hill said the same thing, her one remark was that Dimash had to "sell" the performance more. He sells the performance 1000x better than she ever could.

I truly don't understand why some people go out of their way to spread that nonsense. If he doesn't convey emotions, then why are we crying?

@@BlkWhite466 Those 'judges' - it was like watching a PhD dissertation panel receiving the best dissertation in living memory, but the panel was made up of 5 year olds who had no idea what the subject was. Their commentary was totally inane. Awkward! RuPaul told Dimash he would be famous someday, or something like that. Right at that moment, Dimash could have filled any concert venue *in the world* in mere hours of ticket sales. Who pays to see RuPaul in concerts, again? Man. Somebody put CBS out of my misery, please.

He is not singing. In almost all his performances he becomes the song (in some of them he is just having fun). He is a storyteller but he is so good at it, he becomes the story. It is simply memorable to listen to him. I am over 60 and never in my life have I have heard anyone who could take you on such wonderful emotional journeys. He is simply mesmerizing.

One of the real joys a Dimash dear can do is to introduce an unsuspecting person to him. No matter what genre is your favorite there is no denying the absolute magnificence of Dimash. Country music, heavy metal, rap, etc., fans after the shock wears off halfway through the song become in awe of what is happening before their eyes. I don't know if they suddenly get converted to becoming a dear but they will never forget the experience of listening to him.

"I love this guy." So do we all. This was one of the rounds in the Chinese Hunan Television contest "Singer 2017." Dimash was 22 at the time! He was fretting because this was the first song he sang in Mandarin Chinese (which he doesn't speak). He had learned the text within a week from a phonetic script, yet he definitely did not perform mechanically. He transformed himself into the song and its emotions. And the audience was fully with him. This is how our King Dimash is.

It's also amazing to see how the audience was enraptured by this performance, they were singing along to the song and so many were crying. Really, so was I. We felt every moment of the heartbreak. I'm starting to think that Dimash may be better than therapy.

During his most recent concerts in February and March 2020 he sang ending of this song- the last notes- by his opera voice WITHOUT MIC. Taking Mic far from his mouth and making the sound melting in the air. We refused to believe our ears when he did it for the first time, but he repeated it at the next concerts. Absolutely gorgeous!

Not only that, he could bring some of the audience (and even the contestants) to tears, so in my undestanding that is difficult enough if you're a native, let along a foreign singing your language! And in Chinese.... damn this dude :D

😭😍😭 This song is one of my multible meltdowns every time I listen to it. So, so, SO beautiful, so heartbreaking, so tender ... I usually listen to his songs for the first couple of times without subtitles and look up for the meaning of the words later (if they are available at all). I'm used to do so since years. When I was a child/teenager I just understood German. Although most of the songs on the radio were in English, Italian or French I enjoyed all of them anyway and did't care about the meaning. Is was all about the arrangement and if the melody catched me or not. Little funfact: Now, as an adult, after some years of English lessons, I'm surprised about the lyrics of some of those 80's pop songs I happily sung along as a kid. Thank you so much for your reaction. Lots of love from Switzerland

Melodically, it's a very simple song, but there's nothing simple about Dimash's performance of it. Nuances. Subtleties. He keeps us guessing with every phrase he sings. He harnesses shifting techniques and styles, crescendos and decrescendos to tell the story, to convey emotions both intense and delicate. The word 'beautiful' scarcely does justice to the result. He was only 23 in 2017. That's awfully young to be termed a 'master,' but there can be no doubt. He is. For me, your expert analysis is the delicious icing on a very tasty cake. Thank you!
@josefraguas51904 жыл бұрын
Urgelt I can see you’re very knowledgeable about singing sir. Compare to many people you really know what you are talking about. In your opinion what you think is Dimash’s weakest point? Not that I am bother about because I appreciate his overall talent anyways but I am just curious
@Urgelt4 жыл бұрын
@@josefraguas5190 I'm just a fan, not an expert. That's one reason I'm watching Elizabeth's channel - she actually *knows* stuff! But I'll try my best anyway. He doesn't have many weaknesses. Let's see... he doesn't have the resonance of a true basso profundo. His baritone is elite, though - same range, nearly, different resonance. But that isn't a weakness, it's just taking stock of the tools he does have. His flexibility in the 6th octave isn't a match for a coloratura soprano, but it's darned good for a countertenor. (Some countertenors rarely venture above the 5th octave.) Hard to find fault with it. He might have a tendency to overuse cries, but he does them so well, it's hardly a weakness. I've seen a *few* stage moves that I think were not Dimash at his best - awkward knee twisting and dancing during 'Your Love' didn't match the lyrics at all, in my view. Throwing himself to the floor on his knees and pounding on the floor with his fist could be considered overacting; he doesn't need it, his voice, expressions and natural gestures work perfectly to convey emotion without histrionics. He'll probably do better with more maturity, more experience. A close friend and his wife regard Dimash as 'schmaltzy.' By which I suppose they mean he's emotional? But I thought the point of music was to convey emotions, so I'm not on board with that criticism. I *like* what he does. Going to CBS' World's Best competition was a mistake. I could have warned him, but I'm not in his inner circle. But it's not a mistake in his singing. I have a beef with several of his music videos. 'Screaming' is just bad videography, amateurish. If the video's art distracts from the singer's art, it's bad - and this one does distract, it puts obstacles between the viewer and the singer that don't help at all. 'Love of Tired Swans' is worse, because the videographer decided to take a gorgeous love song evoking weariness and turn it into something else - cages, amputated wings, pain and suffering. Horrible. Not what the song is about. But Dimash sings beautifully in both. I can't fault him there. Dimash is a superb baritone, a superb tenor, a superb countertenor. He's able to bring in techniques from a vast array of genres. His stage presence is compelling. Can we find artists to match his quality in those ranges and genres? Yes. Can we find artists who have all of them, with no real weaknesses in any of them? Only Dimash. It gives Igor Krutoy tremendous flexibility in composing. Igor can imagine new works without worrying about the limitations of the performer. And Igor has taken advantage, with fantastic results. The short answer is, not really. I mean, he's not perfect, no human is, but he's at the top of a game only he can play. He's in his own lane, all by himself. I can tell you this much: he's an extreme workaholic. Nobody gets to his level without putting in the work. Mozart didn't have anyone like Dimash. I don't think any classical composer did - though I will defer to Elizabeth's vastly superior expertise on the subject. (Hint, hint.)
