@melindamercier68118 ай бұрын
@@Markus2E5I6 it stems from Hispanic culture. “Mama and papi are terms of endearment to someone you are close to, and not necessarily sexual. I say it to my children, they’re more like nicknames like “honey” and “sweetie” or “cutie”. They do not hold the same meaning of mom and dad in that way. But it can become more than that with two people who are in a relationship. The vibe is completely different from what the Americanized “daddy” and “mommy” thing has become bc the English versions also bring in the connotations of “sugar daddies” and “sugar babies”, submission and authority. It’s basically a bastardization of what was very specifically Hispanic and understood perfectly in its intended context. In English, and especially to see non-Spanish speaking ppl try to adopt it is just weird and creepy lol.

I’ve seen Pablo Schreiber called that, and if you don’t know him, look him up. He’s a 6’5” muscled beast of a man. No one thinks he’s effeminate, they just think it’s funny to say he’s ‘babygirl’. Not entirely true, or just not a good comparison. The majority of hormonal young ladies in times past, say the past 200 years, were drawn most to confidant and often athletic, masculine boys and men. It’s a very modern and let’s not pretend entertainment and social media isn’t in part responsible, trend that effeminate boys have been promoted as such an attractive quantity. You can hardly compare good looking but still quite macho Elvis or the Beatles to what we are seeing only more and more of in pop culture with de-masculization of men being marketed as a healthy attraction for youth. (I do wish there were more broadly available “nonwoke” peer reviewed studies out here on the subject, because I do find it fascinating anthropologically. But, you have to trust our academic institutions which are themselves playing a very active role in these matters and in my humble opinion, fully compromised, not to be trusted.) So, for me, as a former student of archaeology, anthropology, but rather a nurse of 20 years… I have to say it’s all flowing from the same place, or people, and those people are purposely aiming at EU- genics. (Sorry, KZbin likes to censor posts with words like this one, especially if a post contains multiple “buzz” words/phrases. It’s worth thinking about… either way.

Note: long-term use of hormone-based contraception apparently alters women's selection prefernces according to some studies. Since The Pill makes women's hormonal system think it's pregnant already, attraction to "safe, supportive" males (physical and behavioral) notably increases, whereas once the same people go off the meds, their perceptions and attraction preferences apparently shift to more traditionally masculine phenotypes and behaviour. Considering that more women are being provided oral contraception at earlier ages (to control their cycle), this may have a noticable effect.

American men are incredibly soft and it doesn't matter if they are right-wing or left-wing. all you have to do is scroll through this comment section and see the amount of right-wing people that are saying babygirl offends them or they wouldn't like to be called that or blah blah blah words are wrong. Ewww the entire concept of a "babygirl" man sounds disgusting. This actually grosses me out. Why can't society just let men be men. Thank GOD I am married to a MAN. Like, an actual, masculine man. I wonder if this ridiculously strange desire comes from women's hormones being changed by birth control. Allie Beth Stuckey recently had a podcast discussing how birth control can cause women to desire more feminine men, or even other women. Maybe that's the explanation? I mean, I don't know, but there has to be some kind of an explanation because this is so ridiculous and gross.
@Mimi-748 ай бұрын
That is very interesting. I have never heard that. If true it would certainly explain a lot. I have never been on birth control. I also find masculine men extremely attractive. I appreciate their provider and protector traits. I appreciate our differences, making men and women a compliment to each other, not a competition. And I find nothing remotely attractive with these "baby girl" men. It is nauseating to see.

I was thinking the same thing ! I heard how some women will actually find their partner unattractive once they get off birth control . I actually encounter this in my own life , My best friend dated totally different people while she was on and off birth control. I noticed when she was off birth control she would date masculine man , who were fit, treated her great and had a good future ahead of them. But when she was was taking birth control she dated fat man, who belittle her, and have little to no desire to better their future. She sadly ended up marrying a guy who basically loves her friend ( send her flowers , fantasize about her sexuality and always going to her for advice when it comes to Their relationship) . Wish she never got onto birth control totally destroyed all her healthy relationships with good people

My husband expresses his emotions freely. I wanted our marriage to be a safe place for him to be able to “feel” but to also be masculine. Men NEED to be allowed to feel and process, and not be called “baby girl” because of that!

I'm a gen z girl, and you are reading too much into this. when I call someone baby girl, it's more to say they are acting cute in a way that I wouldnt expect them to act, especially if if they are a pretty "manly" guy. it's not a term that's categorizing them as fundamentally feminine, though I'm sure some use it that way. even if it is "effeminizing", I don't think you realize a lot of the times people are using this term as a JOKE. 😭

I disagree, i do think the name is stupid but men like this have always existed and always had women liking them, just like theres women who like more "masculine" men. Theres different tastes and i dont think you should just say "this is the correct way of doing things" or "this is what other women should like". It may be wierd to you because thats not your taste. Also theres different ways of protecting your loved ones, you can still be strong and protect without having to fit your narrative of whats "masculine" a piece of clothing isn't gonna change that fact. The majority of women here agree with you because thats what they like. The majority of women in another channel that advocates the contrary will agree with that person instead of you Its relative! No side is wrong for liking what they like. Im not saying which one is better than the other, im just saying we should respect others taste instead of thinking something is wrong with them or that something needs to be "fixed" because they like ehat you don't.
