I have one I bought in 1998, I use to carry it everywhere. Now I carry a 19. I still have my old 30 (not a 30S or SF) in its original tupperware. It’s a little freight train of a pistol.
@j.l.80002 жыл бұрын
@DV8 *** 30 vs 30s, slim slide from the 36 and the sf frame. The sf (short frame) has a smaller diameter grip. The 30s is much more "shootable" in my opinion.

@DV8 *** absolutely, If I had the 30s first, I would never have bought the 30.

The 45 Glocks have 8 polygonal grooves while other Glocks only have 6 . That makes them some very accurate shooters . My 30 is more accurate than I am or my other Glocks. Love the 30.

I’ve owned darn near every Glock, multiple G19’s , 17’s 34’s, 26’s, 43x, 48 and every 10mm ,45acp, and every.40 cal Glock except the model 24 and to this day I carry a Glock 30SF. There is something real special about the G30 that makes it feel perfect in the hand, it is the most accurate Glock out of all of them. I’m not sure what it is that makes it so accurate but I have put it up against many other of my Glocks and it is just more mechanically accurate than any other model. I find it to be the very best model there is and very versatile in its role from very concealable with a flush 9 round mag to a full 13 round mag. The best size to capacity ratio of any 45 pistol on the market. I love the G30.

I have this exact same version of the Glock 30. I bought it new and it was test fired by the mfgr. on 4/6/ 2006. The gun even came with the two spent bullet shells test fired by the technician on 4.6.2006 on behalf of the company. It's not even a Gen 1. It's just the original Glock 30. The only Glock I've ever owned and I love it. About the same time, I also bought the HK P2000 .40 S&W. In those days, hand guns came in a case with a certified FFL no. along with the name of the person from H&K who test-fired the gun. The total package came with a small manilla envelope which says: "Date collected": 21.07.2004. The model says: H&K "P2000-V3 Type Polygonal. The envelope comes with a sealed manilla envelope with a spent cartridge which I have never opened and I won't open for special historical purposes. There is a signature by the person who shot the first bullet from the gun. The serial number follows, but I won't publish that here. The name of the person from H&K had the name "MORLOCK" associated with the test firing of my P2000-V3. I must assume this is the 3rd version of the P-2000 which was built at the turn of the millennium. This was a big deal for all gunmakers. It was a big deal for everybody. I still own the Glock and the HK P2000. The older they get, the more they are collector's items. I'm going to leave them in my will to my Grandson when it's time for me to meet my Maker (hopefully). Hopefully, there will still be a world for my grandkids to live in, by the time I "meet my Maker".

Appreciate the video. Only thing I disagree with is where you said if you’re looking for something small this ain’t it. A lot of people use the Glock 30 as a concealed carry and it is a subcompact model if I’m not mistaken. Thank you for the video though man liked and subscribed

Glock 30 was my first Glock as well. I think I got that one in 2000 or so. It was a 2.5 like the one shown with no light rail. That was a BIG DEAL then because of course we were living through the 1994-2004 assault weapons ban where you could only have 10 rounds nationally. I think a lot of people bought them for the same reason I did as they thought they'd rather have 10+1 rounds of 45 in a smaller package over 10+1 of anything else. I've since been forced to change my opinion of the overall efficacy of .45acp for myself and defense in general years ago. Even when a new national ban shows back up, I'd still choose a 10+1 or less option in 9mm. but that's neither here nor there. I still love the Glock 30 and I bought another Gen 2.5 a few years ago (new old stock) and a Gen 3. For myself, the original size grip really is Glock perfection. Nothing holds like that for me. The damned things literally point themselves. Great, great guns for me, the 2.5/3 standard frame size. They absolutely are not a "sub compact" gun. No way, no how. Never going to be.

I own this gun and it is an awesome pistol. Everything feels natural about it and it is a great shooter. I conceal carry this gun sometimes, but with the thickness and weight side. I have found that you need a good dual clip holster to distribute the weight to keep it close to the body. I carry mine is a T-Rex Arms Sidecar 2.0 holster at the 4 o’clock and it does not sag.

I never liked the stock magazine floor plate that comes with the Glock 30... it is a serious finger pincher for me. Fortunately, a Pierce grip fixes that issue. I find, though, that my Glock 36 is a better shooter than my Glock 30 (and the stock G36 floor plate doesn't pinch my fingers). Still, I like the G30 and it would make a good companion gun to a Glock 21

They offered us to buy them I was like nope you can’t get the p2000 or the SK out of my hand fast enough. Would have preferred to stay with the .40 but that decision was far above my pay grade at least we didn’t end up with SIG’s.

I got my first Glock almost a month ago, a 17 Gen 1 Classic repro. I'm thinking about my second now and I'm torn between the 30 and the 30s. I want something that I can carry for defense when necessary, but also have fun with at the range. So I like the idea of the S being more concealable but I've seen lots of comments saying it has a bit more recoil and is less comfortable to shoot. Thoughts? The range I go to has the 30 available for sale and rental but I don't think they have the S model for rental.

I don't understand what they were thinking, if you're going to have the magazine hang down that far, extend the butt and make it a flush fit. I've never liked putting leverage on a magazine.
@Mike-up6go2 жыл бұрын
Glock makes a flush fit 9 round magazine for the 30 and the 30S. Some individuals prefer the shorter grip for concealment and can shoot it with the little finger hanging off the bottom. I would imagine if they made the grip longer there would be a certain segment that would want the grip shorter . LOL everyone is different. I have the 30 gen 4 and a 30S with a short frame. Love both of them but I carry the 30S because of the slimmer slide and less weight.
