If Crafsman was good at just ONE thing, sculpting, drawing, animation, figure making etc that'd be enough. But the man is FUNNY, makes sweet, thoughtful videos, his music is AMAZING and he's just an all around gem.

You have OFFICALLY Won my Undying Love. you finding paint that is THAT STRONG on Casting Urethane, has made me so happy i could literally cry. for *YEARS AND YEARS* i tried and failed to find a paint that would Stick to my Casts. i mean, we're talking 15 YEARS MY MAN! and you upload a video on it like "Here ya go" i feel like this is just a Dream and im gonna wake up soon and sigh and say "Well, it was fun while it lasted, but i guess back to not knowing how to make THAT work" btw the Pocketnaut got to me a few days ago, thank you for signing the inside of the box, it means a lot to me!

This reply was so encouraging to read! It’s a good feeling when the information and experimentation can benefit someone else. ALSO, I was informed by Smooth-On that their Maker Pro paint may work with Smooth-Cast 45d better (and it’s water-based / low VOC). www.smooth-on.com/products/maker-pro-paint/

i don’t think i’ve ever seen a crafting youtuber provide as much information on the available options for tools/supplies as you have here. i don’t think i’ll ever try this myself, but i adore the dedication and appreciate the knowledge. if i were making anything remotely related, this sort of video would be a godsend!

I did someFauxfubi experiments myself some time ago. I would sculpt in clay, and then scan and bring it into a 3d program to cut it up and add the locking joints. It was a long way to go for something i could have just sculpted and did entirely in clay i guess. I still think 3d printing the joining parts might save you a bit of work rather than physically sculpt them next time.

2 things you saved me with here.. I actually picked up robert’s rotocaster he gave away (and met him, its like meeting casting god) but genuinely have been too afraid to use it.. So THIS VIDEO is giving me the courage to finally do it.. i got the bungee cords for it but I just.. never got the strength to make the connected 2 part and secure it yet. Even as I picked it up, clearly robert can make these things with his eyes closed but to me the roto is just so sprcial, I dont wanna utterly destroy the mechanism on my first try!!! i have some big boy parts i need to do this week 2nd thing is that that connector design is just so brilliant, thank you for finally “explaining” the classic sofubi “joint cut”!!!! I never understood where you were supposed to be cutting the edge of the lip until now. you might have just saved a master or two that I was struggling with. Plus it wouldnt hurt to just make my 3d print joints consistent like that.. so simple and I love it As per usual, your videos are so well produced and flawless. I seriously went from having nothing to having a fully stocked (hoard) shop and making my own stuff daily... No $ in it right now but I am just SO fufilled doing it. Thank you man. This community is so damn brilliant

Love it... Go Crafsman! I have used this Sculpey method to make so much of my semi-geometrical stuff-- The tooling, filing and sanding are just a great way to tune and refine these kinds of things. It's as satisfying as it looks! One trick I'd like to pass along... when I'm adding new Sculpey to baked Sculpey, I like to slick the dry area first with a little Sculpey Clay Softener (that comes in a dropper bottle). That always seems to make new clay grab a little better, especially if the contact area is delicate. It's especially useful if you're using clay that's firmer, or on the drier side.

And awesome results as always. What a fun little character. Apoxie sculpt can get hard and unusable, but I have a useful tip. Place a small sheet of plastic into each jar. Lightly moist a piece of sponge, kitchen sponge or such, and place it on top of the plastic. Keep the lids really well closed and check back so the sponges are always moist.
