Adam would make a GREAT reporter in the old tradition. He shows you so much thought-provoking stuff, yet never (or almost never) does he offer his own opinions - especially political opinions - as to what could be or should be done on any given issue. I think this is in large part why his channel is so popular. He shows it to you. YOU do the thinking.

Why? To me this is an advertisement for why these decaying cities need to get rid of urban blight and bring in investors. Keep as many of the old once-beautiful buildings and bring in new businesses. Exactly...looks alot like Detroit I can say that because I born in Detroit and still live within 30 minutes of the city ..sad what has happened every single year They use the $$$ for big stuff and forget the inner city needs to be cleaned up.. pretty sure the new (Detroit sign that wasn't worth it) for the Draft , but that $$ could have been used in those abandoned houses that hurt the neighborhoods ...!!! So tired of the trash being left behind and the big $$$ is abused ..pretty sure there are plenty of folks could have used it to feed their families instead. We have it all wrong right now. Why are abandoned buildings allowed to stand next to someone's own house thar takes care of them yards.. so sad
@OriginalBongoliath4 ай бұрын
I call it Detroit on the Chesapeake. If it wasn't for Washington DC propping up the area, Baltimore and Maryland as a whole would make Detroit look like paradise.
@stephanieray72053 ай бұрын
@@OriginalBongoliath MD extends far beyond Baltimore and DC. DC does not "prop up" Baltimore. Only someone that's not from either city (or the area in general) would make such a statement. DC & Baltimore are almost an hour apart from each other. They're completely separate in every way. Baltimore isn't even included in the term "DMV." I don't live in either city but I'm close enough to know that they're completely independent of each other. DC can barely prop itself up let alone Baltimore and MD as a whole. MD extends from the Appalachian Mountain range to the Atlantic Ocean and has BEAUTIFUL areas & scenery. Baltimore City actually has very safe neighborhoods and scenery as well. They're just never highlighted because "safe" neighborhoods aren't interesting or salacious enough to be discussed and their residents probably appreciate staying off the radar.

The first time I went to Baltimore as an adult I walked into a convenience store that was entirely encased in bulletproof glass. Everything was behind the glass; the drink coolers, the bags of chips, the candy bars, everything. I went up to the register, told the guy what I wanted then he went and retrieved it. I put my money in like a drive through bank teller tray and he exchanged it for my stuff. I’ve always wanted to go back and explore some family history stuff. My great greats owned a store/bar/restaurant kind of a thing in Baltimore during the late 1800s and early 1900s, but I’m literally to afraid to attempt it. Some of them are buried in Druid Hill Cemetery.
