Love so many things about the design, but that angle on the screen is really bad for gun games! Everything becomes distorted when you step further away from the machine to shoot. Having a more 'upright' screen was one of my 'essential' things to do when designing a arcade cabinet intended for use with Gun games too! May not seem obvious for people immediately, but when you compare 'straight on', or near upright Vs this amount of angle, it really makes a huge difference. Probably super technical and difficult, but how about when you pull the Gun drawer open that is attached to a system that adjusts the screen angle too, and puts it back to 'normal' when closed again? Maybe the stuff of dreams there!! Awesome cabs though! 🙂

Im sure the custom build cost thousands so surprised there was not a 4090 or something in there, with all SSD Storage - Would breeze through PS3/Switch etc then as well as modern PC games, Have a cheeky HDMI outlet on the back for playing on a big screen TV then as well.

Some clients choose a RtX3090 or 4090 indeed. But for most (99%) of the classic games, an this 3060 is already overkill. I always try to go ‘over the top’ but without throwing money away.

Fantastic build! I have a question regarding the stream deck. My machine setup with have the ability to rotate the screen vertically and I'm wondering if there is a way to program a hotkey to manually rotate the screen. I don't want to have to go into every .ini file for each game and edit the rotation settings.
@TheDanielSpies_Arcades3 ай бұрын
The screen is rotated because of the INI file the game uses to load. Streamdeck can start any game but it will start as setup in that file. So no, I don’t think that can be done 😅

A very beautiful and functional machine. The only thing that confuses me is the choice of monitor. Full HD resolutions are not enough for such a screen size when playing modern games. There is no support for freesync, in many mame games that work at a frequency of 54-55 hertz (for example, mortal kombat) there will be gaps in the image. Or am I wrong and freesync is in this monitor?
@TheDanielSpies_Arcades Жыл бұрын
Yes, For the competitive gamer, you would prefer different hardware. Preferably original. Freesync works with AMD graphic cards, Nvidia has his own version. But to notice /or enjoy the difference, I would rather suggest playing MK on a FPGA with CRT or PVM monitor. As USB also adds latency and 1.3ms is still more then the zero latency on a crt. Overall, the reviews I read about the Arcooda’s are very good. Regards from the Netherlands, Daniël
@lightgungamerru1963 Жыл бұрын
Freesync works great with both AMD and Nvidia. I agree with you that it is better to play on a crt monitor, but when there is no such possibility, freesync greatly improves the gameplay. Regards from the Russia, Vitaly

Awesome job as usual Daniel! It looks like you're standing fairly close to the cabinet when using the gun-I've heard you should be 1.5-2x the size of your monitor for gun4IR to work, so in your case 48-64 inches. It appears to work great even closer up than that, is this the case? I'm thinking of adding the guns to my cabinet but hesitant due to that limitation, but if it isn't a problem I'm going for it!

@@stevebevel2693 I'm sure your front-ported bass sounds terrific, but so will Daniël's rear port bass. Midrange and especially tweeters are very directional, and just like you suggest, should be mounted forward-facing. Bass, however, is not directional. It actually can have enhanced sound when bounced rearward since it can then use the entire wall as a sounding board, not unlike a unipole antenna using the flat earth as a massive virtual dipole. In addition to using the rear vents as a sound port, the resonant frequency of his cabinets, based on the size, will be about 60-100Hz, so he's getting a huge resonant boost at that low frequency free of charge by venting in the cabinet and porting to the rear. It's the same principle as used in many Bose speaker designs. Source: I took Amar Bose's sound design course as a grad student.
