If someone is looking through the comments for confirmation, I vouch for this. Started consistently doing Wimhoff breathing at the beginning of this year before I started working and it's changed my outlook on life. I'm generally more happy and clear minded. Couple that with eating clean, and you can't fail. Try it for a week or 2, you'll understand.

You shouldn’t just do what he does. Adapt to your physiology. You should never go beyond very little lightheadnes. If you had spins or you feel like you are going to pass out - your in danger. You overdone it.

Professor Mike Tipton of the University of Portsmouth, who has been studying the effects of cold water on the body for 40 years, found that young and healthy individuals had a 1 to 3 per cent chance of cardiac arrhythmia when in cold water. But when they were asked to hold their breath beforehand, that figure rose to 63 per cent. "It's an incredible way of reproducing cardiac arrhythmias in otherwise fit and healthy individuals," he said. The danger is that hyperventilating rids the body of carbon dioxide, which in turns means the body has less oxygen, reducing brain function and leading to loss of consciousness and heart attacks. "In terms of the claims made for the immune system, there are no definitive studies." And Professor Stephen Powis, NHS England's medical director, said: "There is limited scientific evidence to support the use of cold water immersion as a medical 'treatment' and it is alarming to hear of claims of its alleged benefits for a number of conditions. "It can be extremely harmful and risky, and in some cases, deadly."

Honestly I expected more of this show & you as a host. People, children have died because of the exact type of title & thumbnail you are using. Yet at the same time, at least for now, respected universities like Radboud still support the research that Wim talks about. The breathing technique he shows in this video is quite the opposite of hyperventilating. There are plenty of papers that support cold exposure therapy although most are aimed at benefits for athletes and don't go to the extremes that Wim speaks of.

Did not people die because of his advices?

People who combined cold water baths with the breathing have died, but Wim has always advised that individuals are sitting in a chair or laying down when doing his breathing technique

Dying from breathing? .. that's ironic.
@shlomowernick18544 ай бұрын
Less people died from his advice than from taking Tylenol
@Sarah-with-an-H4 ай бұрын
@@a.b1266 did you watch the demonstration? His breathing exercises are simple, but it's about consciously breathing and so it can be a bit extreme because it's a type of stress to the body that trains the body to get out of fight or flight reflexes untill you really are in danger. The issues people have in the modern age is the fight or flight reflex is getting stuck and staying in that highly stressed state.
