I think a fair comparison is the original Spiderman Trilogy. I thought they were great when they first came out, but now I consider them okay, because I have seen how much more you can do with the genre. Sometimes novelty can over inflate an evaluation, so it is not lowering as much as equalizing.
@Patronux3 жыл бұрын
yep, that's nonsensical. If you enjoy a game, and then a 2nd Revised Edition comes out with changes in the rules, does that invalidate the enjoyment you have with the previous edition? In any case, both games should have been a 10. Maybe give Agricola a 9.5 just so you can say "I like Caverna better", but dropping to a 6? come on.

I have to disagree with Mike about Deep Sea Adventure. I don't love or hate it, it's just sort of there, but Zee does not rate it lowly "for some reason". He has very specific reasons for hating it. That's true of Zee more than any of them. He can usually opine at length about why he likes or dislikes a game. He rarely just shrugs and says he hates something or falls back on "I don't know, it was just fun" if he likes it or hates it, He tells you WHY.

I've never won a game of Ghost Stories. If you're a grandmaster at Ghost Stories, I'm sure you can probably win using pure skill, but I think Roy is saying (and I kind of agree with him) that it's so difficult that the only way you can usually win is if you get lucky with how the cards come out, regardless of how skillfully you play. I'm sure that's a bit of an exaggeration, but there's no doubt that it's one of the most difficult cooperative games out there.

@@DarthEd77 I suppose there are some deck set ups that would be impossible or nearly impossible to win.
