We brought in a stray cat when I was a kid named Skitty (because we was skittish). My dad used to call him "Skitty the Seven Dinner Kitty" because he would hit up all the houses in the neighborhood. As for Scooby, I doubt anyone else was able to connect with him like this family. They were putting out food and visiting him, which is probably why he's so healthy looking. I wouldn't be surprised though if others in the neighborhood were leaving food/shelter out.

No its definitely possible it is also seen with cats, they are just very skilled in finding prey and sleeping spots. We frequently forget how tough they are and how good instincts they have, but it absolutely depends on the environment. I’ve followed their story on tiktok since they started trying to take Scooby in. He’s been living on their property and sleeping in the woods. They would leave food out for him. He’s only about a year old and a half and he was on their property for quite some time. They also don’t really have neighbors. Doesn’t seem like a very densely populated area, so the likelihood of scooby having another home nearby is slim. They believe that he was dumped nearby so he was probably being fed by whoever had him prior to dumping him, and fed by them thereafter

@@white_tiger9298 Pitts are amazingly smart and sadly they are frequently dumped and left in shelters. The media has hyped and butchered the truth. They're very strong and loyal animals. Sadly I think that in the wrong hands they can be abused. I feel once they start to reach their potential and people see how incredibly strong they are. I feel sometimes people become fearful and dump them. The failure to train them properly does them a great disservice... I have a red nose pitbull who is about 120 lb, still growing and nothing but pure muscle. He has no idea he's supposed to be vicious. He thinks he's a lap dog. My cat bosses him around.

The dog appeared abused (I'm assuming from its extreme fear of people, general body language early in the video) so... If it did have a home, it probably wasn't a good one. Most dogs (albeit not all) wouldn't be afraid around hand like that... Besides, if he had a family, he'd have a microchip, and they would have found the real owners when he visited the vet. it's very unlikely someone lost their dog

@@rivawolf5317 I know plenty of skittish dogs and cats who belong to really great homes. They just trust a very few number of people. It can be a personality thing, not just abuse. The dog was in really good condition. They said he was starving but he looked healthy to me and apparently the vet agreed and also said he was in good condition. I've rescued a dog who really was abused and out on his own for a year and there was evidence of his ordeal. I'm inclined to agree with the first two comments. But again, Scooby didn't say so who knows for sure?

I'm pretty sure if the dog was missing they would have found out and returned him. Remember; it was ONE YEAR before they actually took the dog in. Don't you think if it was posted that this clearly compassionate couple would have responded so the dog could be returned to its owner?

@@earthing3696 Feeding him wouldn't keep his coat clear if he'd been sleeping rough for a YEAR.. you must not watch too many of these stray dog videos.. they are usually full of fleas, ticks and extremely dirty when captured, even after a few WEEKS, and even if kind souls have been feeding them. That's what I was questioning. It could be that this video was created after the fact as kind of a reenactment, rather than actual footage that was being shot over the YEAR that the owners say they were tracking Scooby..
