Shout out to Mochi's original parents for letting him have a better life with someone else. They were good pet parents in realizing someone else could be a better pet parent, and not letting ego or indifference interfere.

The lizard was very fortunate that it went to the right place I can't say that I really trusted their decision I believe they wanted to get rid of the lizard more than making the right decision fortunately it was the right person a thousand percent so I'll give them credit 50% for doing the right thing I just despise people that don't commit forever to their pets and throw them out in the street in my book they are complete losers I wouldn't trust them with anything Etc & so on This didn't happen in this case so it's a good good good good good good story🐲🦎🕊

To all the other people who own reptiles: shh... let them pretend. Actually in a way it is cuddling, I know from my own experience that bearded dragons LOVE fluffy things and are generally a quite active and happy pet. Most reptiles can live contently in their enclosure all their life and actually holding them too much can be stressful. However, it’s like the bearded dragon didn’t get the memo. They really do benefit from handling and act more like a bird then most lizards, I own one and she’s my baby. I initially wanted a snake instead because I struggle with anxiety and depression and I want a pet that won’t suffer when I won’t give them time because I can barely even take care of myself but I still need that interaction with an animal because I’m an introvert who needs that. Instead because of Covid my plans changed and I got Ali instead. She really is like this, always inquisitive, and for the record days where I can’t find time for her are very rare, and often her care gets me going on bad days, but she’s always there.

I had an extra warmpad and heatlamp in the corner of my bed area and when I snapped my fingers she would run over and crawl into bed. She'd sleep on my chest alot too. I even got her to go to the bathroom on a pile of newspaper in a shallow box everytime. She was so intelligent and calm tempered. I have a dog now, but I'll always miss that iggy.

@Tiff Bannen The iguanas in Costa Rica are protected, so I can see why they have no fear of humans, since I find them to be the smartest of the reptile species. Most people say the monitor lizard is the smartest of the lizards, even scientist's, which I disagree. Having had both species I have found some iguanas like the Cayman Brac to out perform any reptile thats been in my collection. Of course we dont know the exact intelligence yet, but so far the Cayman Brac for me has done more stunts with voice commands then any reptile ever in my collection. Hope I can visit them black iguanas in Costa Rica someday.

Yep, mine does that. He tends to either lay on my shoulder, stomach, or chest, with my head a close fourth. Depends on how I'm laying. I can tell if he wants to lay on me as he'll make a movement with his right forelimb, almost like he's waving. His fave is my stomach, followed by chest. He'll spread himself out across my abs or pecs.

I love the way you interact with Mochi; you realize that he is another soul on this planet, not just an animal, or a thing. That is the true way to treat your companion “animals”. You haven’t really trained him, you have made him understand you and he is honoring your requests. I know that sounds weird, but animals don’t have to do what we tell them to or ask them to, unless they want to. That comes from love. Keep up the good work!

I appreciate the thought here but lizard brains are fundamentally different from ours. Those differences mean they literally cant even comprehend basic social interaction. They aren't even self aware, which you can see by the way he bobs (Beardie aggressive display) at his own reflection, thinking it is another male. If the inability to process basic things such as self awareness, you should be able to understand how such a complex concept as love can't even exist in that same brain. Animals are not people. Stop humanizing them. This can be dangerous, misinformative, and especially in regards to reptiles, usually leads to inadvertent neglect borne from simple ignorance. Just make sure they have their needs met. And pray they never grow larger than you, because they would literally eat you without a second thought, as just like birds they determine prey by "Can this fit?"

Treat them well...educate neighborhood children when you can with them and realize they are entertaining to us while often being barely smarter than a praying mantis...and always be ready to make a belt out of them when they naturally pass on and THANK GOD as you say that we're large and they're small...and for all the "love" crap people attest to being an intricate part? I can second this. Even though snakes necessarily can't feel affection (or so they say), they do get comfortable with their care takers. I have 4 snakes and a leo. My second snake was a male normal 50% het clown I rescued. He was slightly underweight, he was very dehydrated, he had stuck shed covering a lot of his body, and he had rat wounds. At first he was highly skittish, and was extremely head shy. This was back in Feburary when I got him. Now, after a lot of time, love and care, he doesn't shy away from me, and he let's me stroke his head without freaking out, just like my first ball python (a female fire pos. dinker morph) that I have had since she was about 2 months. He has fattened up like he needed to, he is no longer dehydrated (it's sad, when I got him his eye caps were severely wrinkled), and his wounds have just about healed up! Now he is just a big spoiled brat that seeks attention like his sister lol.

The way she carefully goes to lie down so she can scoop him forward on her head to avoid squishing him is beautiful. I'm enamored with his rapid skittering when his name is called though, that was ridiculously adorable XD

Big shout out to this girl for her commitment to giving Mochi a great life, so much love and attention! One can feel their strong bond - he clearly trusts her a lot and feels safe with her, that's so lovely to watch! Thank you for showing the world that lizards aren't supposed to stay locked in a glass box and are capable of being so much fun when given a chance to live life more fully! ❤

I remember someone abandoned a bearded dragon in the bushes of my familys house years ago, we lived on a busy Highway. Of course we saved her, we could only keep her for a few days because we were trying to find a person that take cares of reptiles like her. But she loved it when she was on ours heads. But I'm glad and thankful shes in a loving home now.

My bearded baby recently passed away and seeing this just really warms my heart. It brought back happy memories of my time with my baby Karne.
