I was a total dog person until 6 years ago when I met a little feral who I named Punkin. I always say that cats cast a spell on you. Once they do, you become a total cat person. Thank you for saving and loving Gracie!!!

One of my best friends, who I’ve known for almost 30 years, always disliked cats. Then he married, and his wife wanted cats, so they got cats. And for years he whined and swore about these “useless” animals that run away from you and just take up space and give you nothing back. And I told him “well of course they hate you if all you do is yell at them. If you’re nice to the cats, they’ll want to be with you.” I told him this over and over for years. Eventually, he started to listen. Now he’s divorced and has his own place, and he recently told me he was thinking about getting a cat. :)

That's how it all starts. I NEVER liked cats, until one showed up on my deck 10 years ago. My love of all things feline is forever and always now. I foster cats and kittens for my local rescue, and last year we went to Africa because of my love of cats, and wanted to see their majestic relatives in the most incredible continent on the planet!!! Cats of all sizes are incredible, and have quite literally changed my life for the better!!!!

It’s always “I/We’re not into cats/don’t like cats” until they meet an actual cat. Too many people believe the myths that cats are “aloof” and don’t care about people, that they want to only do their own thing, or that they hate other animals. Then they meet cats that are snuggle buddies, that love to play things like fetch, and that get along with other cats and/or dogs, even other animals. Their eyes and hearts are opened and it’s a whole new world.
