This rescue took place in Greece, in the island of Spetses. Hence her name. It was on the news for many days. A fact not mentioned in the video is that the officer at first didn't allow her to jump into the sea but she persisted. Well done dodo for uploading it. I was sure you would cover it.

Greece is not well-known for their kindness to animals, accept for Takis who has a shelter in Crete. God sent this brave lady to override the officer's instructions otherwise the kitten would have drowned.

I am Greek and I remember this story going viral here when it happened. I grew up in the island this lady rescued Spetzy and it made me realize that there are so many people that ignore the needs of animals...This lady was the only one who cared to do anything to get this little baby out of the water the port authority did nothing so I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to this lady for saving the baby and giving it a forever home 💙 It was meant to happen she was meant to be there at that time!

Quite a surprise how well Spetzy handled the flight despite doubtlessly never being on the plane before! And so sweet how this woman jumped in the water without hesitation to save her! How could they not take her home after that? Despite little Spetzy's traumatic experience, a great thing came out of it... she was able to go to a new home with a loving family who will certainly give her a wonderful life. 😊

Coco is the hero, here!! She jumped in to rescue the kitten without hesitation. She did not leave it there. She took the baby to the vet to be checked out. Then Coco took it even further, she took baby kitty home to the USA with them and made her a member of her family.
