I totally get it. I come from a very abusive, childhood home, which I left at 17. At 20, I got a kitten and named him Morgan. I did love him, but when he got very old and needed extra care, and, at the same time, I became painfully disabled from the childhood injuries... That's when I really understood love in a new way. We took care of each other in our mutual physical struggles. I was in my late 30s. Morgan passed when I was 40. I met my husband a year later. I swear, I couldn't have loved my husband the way I do if Morgan hadn't taught me first.

Pitties are such great dogs. My boy is a rescue, too. Got him 6 months ago. He came into the shelter on a Sunday night and I volunteered the next Monday morning and I was the first one to see him. Even before the staff did. He hadn't been cleaned or had his checkup yet and he was filthy. Only 9 months old... neutered, but not chipped. I asked the staff to hurry up and make his kennel card so I could be the first to reserve him. I brought toys and treats the next few days and by the time I took him home that Saturday he already knew... this is my dude. I am retired, so we go everywhere together. He just had a DQ soft serve.

@christyluvs80sXo5 жыл бұрын
Sounds pretty unusual to me? Maybe not the dog making him a better person part, but the rest of the story is!! Also, I can't figure out if your for or against humans having dogs? You said we don't deserve them. Which I disagree with. Some humans do, and some dont. In some cases, dogs and humans deserve eachother, but in all cases dogs deserve humans! They are domesticated animals! Perhaps you mean if we could go back in time and never make them domesticated, or make breeds? Idk, but in this present time dogs deserve humans because we made them to need us, and I believe you may feel this way as well because at the end of your comment you said 2 dogs getting forever homes was a win-win. I agree!

Y'all need to chill lol humans are fine with out dogs. It's a mutual relationship, period. Edit: I had to come back to this. Your comment bothered me so much..especially since this many people are liking it. Dogs NEED us just as much as we WANT them. The quality of life they live without us is equal to a bum(homeless person) that we pass by on the street. However our life doesn't change at all without them. Sure we may feel like we're "missing" something but will still continue to push forward in life. There's a reason a dog waits for you by the door when you get home because he/she knows what you've done for their life and they love you/have your back.
